I think this is the review site for the little beach at Emporios Port, just beside the town of Emporios rather than the more famous black stone beach at Mavra Volia, which has its own review page. I have done a separate review for the...More

The famous beach of Chios looks like the black beaches of Santorini. The black stones are a result of an old volcano which is now off. There is a path where you can hike to the volcano.

This famous beach with large black volcanic pebbles is for nature lovers but you should bring your own umbrella and towels as there are no facilities here, except for a small kiosk at the back. It may be difficult to swim without special footwear.

We love eating at the restaurants there. Each one has a specialty. You can buy fish fresh off the boat, launch your boat into the water and stay over night at one of the hotels. Sunsets are truly beautiful there. A must to visit.!!!!!
