    ABSOLUTELY IDYLLIC!
Absolutely wonderful in a shabby chic sort of way. Certainly plenty of shops and cafes, and a lovely promenade to watch the sunset and to walk off your dinner. The best feature for me was the Chapel of St Nicholas at the end of the pier, where you can light a candle before a long journey home.

A Breath of Fresh Air, only a 40 minute ferry trip from Athens
If you’ve had enough of the hustle and bustle of Athens, take the short ferry trip to the nearby peaceful island of Aegina. The Port of Aegina Town is quaint and dotted with lots of outdoor cafes, small shops, and the best pistachios in the world. Aegina is ideal for a day visit, but staying for a night or two provides time to explore the island. You will want to return!

our first stop during our sailing adventure
With a few friends we rented a sailing boat and explored the Saronic Islands. Aegina was our first stop after leaving Athens. Charming, lovely and enchanted. Mediterranean architecture, lovely restaurants and cafes, good food and friendly people. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We took a 40 minutes fast ferry from Athens to Aegina. The waterfront and the town is charming and has a vibrant atmosphere. Lots of lovely cafes, shops and restaurants. It was amazing to walk along the waterfront watching fishermen repairing their boats and fishing nets. There are many shops selling famous Aegina pistachios. The
island is worth visiting.

We did a day trip to Aegina via the fast ferry which takes only 40 minutes. We thought about the tour that does 3 islands in a day and decided to just concentrate on seeing Aegina on our own without being rushed. The port is colorful and fun to walk around and shop. This island is the pistachio island so there are many vendors with their goods of pistachio pesto, liquor, salted, non salted, etc. take time to sample and enjoy the vibe.

Also, there are some ancient sites to see: Temple of Aphaia and Archaeological site of Kolona.

This was a fun island with great shops and nice waterfront restaurants.

Took the morning ferry to Aegina island for the day. Ferry was cheap and we were there in one hour. You can take the fast catamaran in 40 mins but either does the job.

The island was quite peaceful and a stark contrast from Athens. It was nice to get away for a day from the relentless traffic of Athens, although you do have to be careful with some of the streets of Aegina. The locals are really nice and there's some gorgeous old buildings and history. Definitely a more relaxing feel her like the other Greek islands.

Aegina is a pretty island. But I think I would have planned our visit differently. We stayed in Athens end of March, and wanted a quick visit to an island one day. We chose Aegina, as the fast 40 min ferry, which was nice. Aegina town is pleasant. We took a taxi to Perdika, had a nice lunch there and walked that pretty town. I thought the taxi was expensive compared to Athens city, and especially compared to Corinth. I had planned to visit Moni island, but no boats there in March.
Temple of Apollo was interesting. But if I were to visit again, I would have rented a car and saw more of the coutryside, and other ruins and buildings. Generally avoided renting cars, due to the stress of Greece roads, but Aegina in March was peaceful and I think would have been able to do more with our time there.

An amazing location with natural beauty everywhere we went. Lovely little seaside town, but beware when eating seafood, as most restaurants try and serve frozen over fresh with tiny print at the bottom of the menu! One said to us, tourist cant taste the difference. To boot there is an amazing fish market smack in the middle of town, so no excuse to serve frozen produce at all.
Im from New Zealand and I can tell you, we can taste the difference!!
Found on the other side of the island its all fresh from the ocean on the day.
