This railway is run by volunteers and has a number of narrow gauge (two Swedish feet) locomotives and carriages. There are two lines to travel on stretching for several kilometres and connecting with: mainline trains, a castle kitchen specialising in desserts, a steamboat and the...More

Take the train through a scenery that seems stuck in time. The only evidence of the 21st century is ppl taking photos with smartphones. The train is small and authentic, friendly staff. The train changes direction soon after departure and they will reposition the locomotive...More

This is a really fun thing to do and children will love it. We got the boat from Stockholm to Mariefred and from there this little narrow gauge steam train will take you - about 15 mins - to Laggesta where you change for Stockholm....More

Run by volunteers, this small gauge train runs through several towns and even connects to the high-speed rail going into Stockholm! (connection in Läggesta I think). You can also take the train to Taxinge (not every day) or just take a ride for the fun...More

We had a nice 2 hour ride through picturesque rural Sweden. Kids and adults will like it. I understand that it is run by volunteers.

For foreign tourists, it's a shame the title of this attraction isn't 'Narrow-guage steam train' because most of us would have no idea what Ostra Sodermanlands Jarnvag means. During the summer months a bunch of volunteers operate this excellent little train which takes you on...More

Our party of 4 adults and 2 kids took the train to-and-fro Mariefred and Laggesta. We enjoyed the experience tremendously! Very interesting attraction for tourists of all ages, especially children!

By visiting you go back 100 years in time to the old steam trains. Great thing to do if you love them yourself, or if you have children of suitable age.
