Nice little museum in Djerba Houmt Souk. Highly recommended to visit. More artefacts would do better justice to this beautiful fort.

Situated right on the sea, the fort is quite beautiful. Like many medieval forts around the world though, it is a shadow of what it must have been 500 years ago. I would have found it more interesting if there were written and illustrated signs explaining what the various ares of the fort were used for.

We found this site quite expensive for local standards. It’s worth noting that the ground is very rough and not level so please wear appropriate footwear.

We asked the taxi to stop while we visited the fortress, however it was closed on Friday morning at 10 am. We looked over the port and around the ancient fortress whose walls could tell many stories.

Possible to walk inside of fortress on different stairs and levels. Liked old statues and ornamented stones . But - please information in English too!

This old fort, apparently from the 1500's, sits right on the Mediterranean. An uncanny place especially if you let your mind wander to "back in the day". There is a small admission fee to see inside the fort or just stay outside with no fee. Parking is not a problem

Not expensive to go inside but in my opinion it is overpriced by Tunisian standards as it doesn’t offer much. It’s in a raw state with no information of guides. Rough ground and quite dangerous areas when climbing stairs to look at views. Good parking and easy to find.

The fort requires paid entry. It is falling apart in places but guard rails have been put up for exploring. There were some archeologists there while we were visiting. They were collecting samples. There are great views from above and interesting structures from below. My daughter enjoyed exploring and my husband and I enjoyed the history and architecture.

This fort has good parking and has Great Views from its ramparts and costs 10 TND to enter for non Tunisians

There is a lot of walking inside and it is not very accessible for the disabled visitor due to its age but has handrails around for other visitors for Health & Safety - something that has only been brought into place in recent years in Tunisia

A largish fort inside so will take up to 1 hour if you don’t rush too much and take your time - see added photos of relics and previous monuments

No details or explanation plaques in place and little English spoken at the cash desk which is something that they need to improve on

Try a trip to the museum at the same time - not too far away - see separate review
