We made reservations on their website for 2 premium and 3 regular tastings for our group, but when we got there, we were told they could not do 2 different tastings at the same time. We were forced to do all premium tastings. Why did they accept our reservations if they couldn’t do 2 types of tastings at the same time?
We were 30 minutes late because we got lost on the rugged mountain roads. We were fully expecting them to tell us wait for the next tasting. We were surprised that they made the other group wait for us. We wish they hadn’t done that because that upset the other group of tasters. They could have easily accommodate 2 different tastings by pouring different flights of wines, and provide information of each wine by giving each taster an informational pamphlet.
Each time when I asked the host a question about the wine or the grape varietal they used, he was condescending and told me to pay attention! The winery was beautiful but the wines were ordinary at best, definitely not worth the trouble of getting to!

Very grand wine tasting facility for the size of the vineyard/winery. A somewhat robotic description of the wines by a condescending host who did not show much passion or maybe was having a bad day. You won’t see the wine-making facilities nor see any vineyard around the property which is surrounded by large olive groves. The wines included in the Premium Tasting were good although very oaky and clearly geared for the American market. No price list available in the shop which made me a little suspicious. Suspicion confirmed when I found out that the truly interesting wines (e.g. the mono varietals mandilari and kotsifali) were priced at 38€ a bottle!

Came here without a reservation and in the middle of a tasting. The gentleman that was leading the tasting offered us to join the current tasting that he was conducting or to come back in an hour for the next one. We chose to come back and glad we did. We had enjoyed the deluxe tasting with many of their wines. The gentleman was very passionate and gave great descriptions of the wine. It was quite the experience. Would highly recommend!

The experience was well worth the drive! My friend cellars 2000 bottles of California Wine!
These Greek Wines were outstanding and very beyond comparable … leather and smoke.. mixed with rich berries and just the right amount of Greek minerals from the soil.
I packed as much as I could home… because you can not get these wines in the US… few home with just the cloths on my back… so I empty my suit cases…
Make sure Anthony provides your tasting experience… !!!

Website clearly states on front page that they gladly accept visitors for tasting with our without reservations daily. Clearly NOT the case for us while visiting Chania this month. One raining day, decided to drive out for a visit. Were flatly turned down and told to make a reservation later in the day. Employee was very curt with us, so many other wines in Crete to taste, buy, and bring home. We did exactly that.

Went on a pre arranged tour with Jet 2 and this was a highlight of our holiday trips. The gentleman (maybe the owner, sorry not sure) was so passionate and informative and a pleasure to listen to. Wasnt a "Lip service" type of thing for tourists, but a really engaging insight into cretan wine, how to taste and suitable for all people. The wine was great and the liquor was amazing! really enjoyed our time at this beautiful vineyard.

Karavitakis winery offers spontaneous wine tastings for small and larger groups on their premises in Eastern Crete. While only tastings (no guided tours) can be booked is this still a worthwhile visit, as the premises are modernized and up to European standards. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the wines good. We enjoyed our stop here, took some nice pictures, enjoyed the wine and even bought some to take home - a pleasant visit!

We really loved their white wines!
We highly reccomend to book a tasting and to be driven by Nikos.
The guy shows such a positive energy and passion about wine, he's happy and patience to give you details about production process, vineyards locations, climate and speaks about philosophy and the winemaker vision.
Its a place for groups and for winelovers as well
Great journey and great wines.

We took a vine tasting trip. Based on reviewes we expected something really good but our experience was bad. We had 7 vines to taste. The sommelier who was presenting the vines provided poor information. Nothing about the region or Cretan grapes, basic info about the vines which we could read on the label. The whole experience was 1h while the sommelier was with us maybe 15 min, he was cleaning the tables during the trip. We read a lot about the vineary and vines, and hoped to learn much more. 2 starts for good vines. It is worth to buy them.

Very dissapointing. I visited a lot of wineries around many countries but this one was really not worth visiting. The wine is not something special, the service and sommelier was very unfriendly, when we wanted to taste something else it was not possible. Do not reccomend.
