Beautiful town, we visited by car when staying in La Morra. The friendly tourist office also runs walking tours. We enjoyed visiting the principal church Chiesa della Madonna della Neve and then took the steep path uphill to the old town. A wonderful visit !

It is an ancient hill-top town that offers a fantastic views of the Langhe. It is easy to find a parking spot here. The location of the town makes it perfect as a base for exploring of the region. There is plenty of little shops that offer an excellent local wines.
We were also truly impressed with the church.

We live just 30km in Mondovi and although we have passed through Montforte regularly - and flown over it in our balloon! - we have never actually spent any time here. However yesterday we visited the town for an excellent performance that was held in the auditorium at the top of the hill for the Montforte Jazz Festival. We were really surprised by the quality of restaurants and bars on offer in such a small place and of course the setting is spectacular. We will be back for more!

A small village sitting up on a hill, with a small plaza to have a drink, and watch the people. Head up hill to visit the nice church and get a great view of the surrounding area. Some nice restaurants in this village.

This was a great place to spend a couple days in the Piedmont wine region. Scenic, picturesque, great lodging and dining, easy to get to other places - Serralunga, Barolo, LaMorrra and beyond. No shopping and the weekly market is in Alba. Public swimming pool. Auditorium with summer concerts.

In the middle o beautiful surroundings Monforte is a small town worth visiting when in the neighboorhood. It doesn't have many attractions but some interesting restaurants. On Sundays mornings the centre square is lively and a fun place to have a coffee.
