The Scalea beach and the town are appreciable, the mountains are close and well maintained, the sea is almost always clean, the shoreline is made of smooth pebbles mixed with sand, affordable prices and acceptable services. excellent separate waste collection, not perfect due to a few uncivilized people. let's be clear, we are not in Porto Cervo or Cortina but the quality/price ratio is nothing short of superlative. the only real problem arises only in the central weeks of August, made up of barbarian hordes of various tribes (Goths, Vandals, Huns etc) of pseudo holidaymakers, all rigorously coming from a very specific geographical area, who export their habitual uncivilized behaviors, convinced of their innate sympathy, which for immediate understanding and not to remain in the vague list: repeatedly using the horn, even at night, parking in the most unexpected places, not respecting any rules of civil coexistence, shouting and screaming without any necessity, do not use the Italian language but their local idiom convinced that everyone must adapt, do not use helmets on motorbikes, do not wear seat belts in cars, transport children in cars ready to be projected outside like missiles, go walking around with unlikely license plates from the East, remaining with the air conditioner on while the family (7/9 people minimum) do the shopping etc etc... oh well we understand each other... many houses for sale at excellent prices that are only waiting for normal people that they drive out the barbarians and restore education and serenity to a wonderful place.

Spiaggia poco frequentata, spiaggia bellissima e acqua cristallina.

we need to delete this topic because people confuse between the town of Scalea (CS) and the staircase (scalea) that goes down to the beach of Santa Domenica di Ricadi (VV)

For People who DO NOT want a Bathhouse and/or a Bar,
and they LOVE the semi-deserted beaches with rocks and seagrass,
and they are not scared by a slightly tiring staircase going up,
and wait for the wonderful sunset before going up from the beach,
the Scalea of Santa Domenica in Ricadi is a WONDER.
It's a shame that in the square above where you park (and also on the steps) the Municipality (or the Province?) does not constantly remove the TRASH that uncivilized and disrespectful people (and ungrateful towards such a generous Nature) leave without any restraint, instead of taking it home and disposing of it in the NORMAL household rubbish.
