A bit pricey for such a short journey but it does save 20 minutes driving to access the Island via Port Magee... check out the multi trip option...

Extemely expensive, prices must hav gone up, €11 for a one way trip that takes 5 minutes, it’s nice for a once off experience wouldn’t go often

We didn’t realise there was a ferry crossing to Valentia Island until our GPS Tom Tom directed us to it. It saved a lot of time. There is a bridge across to the Island at the other end accessed through Portmagee. But as we stayed at Knights Town the ferry terminal is right at the Main Street of Knights Town, so very handy.

Save a long detour to cross the bridge back the mainland and use the car ferry. I went across on my motorcycle (€4) and it is a short five minute crossing, with friendly and welcoming staff.

We took this car across to have dinner at The Point (a fantastic restaurant).
The service is frequent and inexpensive. It only takes a couple of minutes and the views of the harbour and surrounding area make for a lovely backdrop.

A great service. Short, and inexpensive if you get the multiple travel ticket Highly recommend if you are staying on the island and travelling off it during the week.

We really were impressed by this little ferry. No queues more than 10 min. Crossing time to caherciveen is a fast 5 min saving you 25 min driving time. And at only €8.00 one way or €12.00 return it's well worth it

We came to Valentia on the ferry. Paid for a round trip, as we only had three days on the island. The trips are frequent, the ferrymen are friendly. And you can get a return trip without the car, which we did to go to a restaurant in Cahersiveen one night. Trip is quick, and saves a lot of time getting on to the main land.

Ferry runs constantly in season and takes just a couple of mins to get across. No fuss, no muss and then you're done!
