    Incredible week at Jolly Beach!
This resort is absolutely amazing! Everyone that works at Jolly is so kind, helpful and will do anything to make your stay even better. Unreal and top notch service!!!! The beach is one of the best beaches I have ever had the pleasure of hanging out on for a week. STUNNING. Oh boy, and the food. The Pizza Factory ( lunch and dinner) is absolutely hands down the best resort food I have ever had. 5 star service, 5 star beach and 5 star food…. 💯 %. Yes, this resort is outdated but it’s clean and the food, service and beach are all top notch. No question that I’ll be back. If you need a driver, we found the nicest and most reliable guy to tour us around the island…. I’ll attach the business card here. Thank you to everyone at Jolly beach and to Henry for taking such good care of us on our adventures!

    Will be returning!
We had the best stay at Jolly Beach and will most definitely be returning next year. The staff were absolutely lovely and always happy to help and so friendly/chatty. The food was lovely, we were really impressed with how tasty it all was and there was lots of choice, especially the a la carte restaurant! drinks were great - could literally ask for any cocktail you want and definitely strong and available all day! We had an issue with a room and noise on the first night and the staff instantly upgraded us to a lovely room which we were chuffed with - comfy, new beds and lovely view and modern room. The beach is gorgeous and understand the hotel is undergoing more renovations currently but all in all a fab hotel, which we found so relaxing & a joy to be in. Really pleased with the high level of security in the resort too - we felt very safe! We would have liked to see more entertainment but we were off season so hope to see that next year. Thank you so much to Jolly Beach for an amazing stay, see you next year!

    Amazing holiday
This was my first time to Antigua and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The Jolly Beach is a great resort. The staff team are wonderful, very friendly, smiley, helpful and hardworking. Nothing was too much for them. The food was to a high standard and was fresh, hot, and delicious with a variety every day. We were here during the predicted hurricane Tammy, which was obviously a tense time for all, but we were very well looked after and communication was good. Our safety was their priority and we felt reassured at all times. Again the staff worked tirelessly and went over beyond ,working way over their hours to make sure we were ok. The bars rarely had queues. The swimming pools were wonderful and the beach was stunning. I can't find any faults and would definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

    Relaxing Stay
We stayed in a villa round the bay in jolly harbour, As it was out of season this was one of the few places open. Had a great time here. great food ,fab staff , good prices. Great location right on the beach. watched rugby world cup here and some foot ball. Its called the pop up beach bar on google maps. you can park right next to it just drive through security gate. if you eat and drink here you get free sun beds and umbrella.

    Love this place
Stayed at Jolly Beach with a group of friends when we went to watch the cricket. I knew it had been closed for a while and supposedly renovated but I couldn't notice any changes from the previous times I've stayed here. Yes, the rooms are tired, lacking in amenities (kettle, fridge etc) and could really do with new bathrooms but the food is fine, the drinks are good and the staff were lovely. I've got very fond memories of Jolly Beach and will certainly visit again.

    Fantastic Holiday
This was our 8th time to JBR and second time this year so we kind of know what to expect. We could see big improvements from our summer visit with the reopening of the Long Bar and the old Hemispheres restaurant (now called Palms). Food quality is really good and better than most other resorts we have visited in Antigua. There are plenty of options so there shouldn’t really be a problem. There is one A la Carte option which is Italian and can be a bit repetitive if eating there every night it is open. The other option at dinner is buffet, which although not our preferred choice seemed to go down well with the other guests. Rooms are small and basic. No problem as we only shower and sleep in it. Drinks are plentiful are the bar staff were pleasant and helpful. Entertainment can be sporadic and is really dependant on the occupancy of the hotel on that given day. Overall is was just great to see JBR up and running and we hope to visit again next June.

Fantastic Stay at Jolly Beach Resort and Spa!
If you’re looking for an incredible experience, visit Jolly Beach Resort and Spa. The beach is incredible and everything you need is just a few steps away starting with the Pool Bar. Whether it’s drinks, burgers, wraps, or jerk chicken, everything is made to order just the way you like it! And the jerk chicken is fantastic! Can’t say enough about the food overall. The Pizza Factory has a great menu and excellent service. My wife loved the carbonara! (Had it twice! 😀). Breakfast has a wide variety of buffet items as well as eggs and omelets made to order. Our room was clean and the bed was great. Our balcony overlooked the main pool and the beach. Be sure to visit The Long Bar to see one of the best sun sets you will ever see. Patrick and the bar staff there are fantastic and take excellent care of you while you’re there. The staff were all very attentive and took great care to be sure we had everything we needed. We had an great stay and highly recommend it.

I stayed at Jolly beach for 12 nights with my aunt and it was amazing. The beach is beautiful and there are two big pools to enjoy. The sunsets from that side of the island are incredible! The room was comfortable and clean. If you want a bit more space I’d recommend getting a superior room. The staff were absolutely amazing from the ladies who booked tours, to the reception staff to the staff who served food and drink in all the restaurants even the chefs were super friendly. The food was delicious plenty of variety and cooking stations including a omelette station each morning. The drinks were plentiful and the lunch at the coconut grill is a must. Book the Pizza Factory one night for a change from the buffet restaurant. A fabulous stay, I will be returning.

Before visiting the jolly beach resort with 3 friends I’d read a lot of the reviews. Quite a few of these were a bit negative and occasionally critical. So I think I can say I was fascinated to see for myself what the resort would be like.
It’s a 3* hotel and the very good value for money overall cost reflects this. I cannot fault the price. We did upgrade on our room and for us i think this was a wise decision. Providing you are realistic in your expectations you should not be disappointed.
We were all pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the variety of what was on offer daily. Quite often we were spoiled for choice. Every evening there was entertainment and a range of activities were available daily.
The beach is stunning. I defy anyone who thinks differently.
I cannot fault the staff who work tirelessly to provide a very good standard of service. They are very friendly and helpful.
Futuristically I think there are major development plans to transform this resort so I am glad I had the chance to visit while I could afford it. If property is all about location, location, location then trust me the jolly beach is in the best position possible.
My two week visit flew by and I am glad I ignored the negative and critical reviews that I saw in advance of my trip.

Amazing, affordable beach resort! The staff were so friendly right from the start and throughout our stay. There was a large variety of delicious things to eat, our room was so clean and comfortable. The long, white sandy beach is breathtaking, good for swimming as are the two beautiful pools. Such a relaxing vacation, we never wanted for anything.
They had theme nights at the buffet and one a la carte restaurant. The restaurant is mostly pasta and pizza (tender fresh made pasta!!) with only one gluten free entree. I did see another menu with two options, seems like they update it regularly. If you have dietary restrictions, the buffet will not disappoint. For picky eaters, regardless of the theme night, the buffet had a fresh salad bar with fruit, bread, cheese and deli meat. There was a carving station, pasta station, pizza, vegetarian options and homemade soups every day. The breakfast buffet had two egg and omelette station, the best bacon, and a full selection of pastries, cereals, fruit. Lots of condiments (bring peanut butter if that’s your go to).
The coffee nook was my favourite morning spot, the Coconut Grill on the beach makes a delicious burger and fries, the upper deck is a great spot for lunch and we also enjoyed the activities (volleyball, bingo, water aerobics, etc) whether participating or spectating, and the nightly entertainment. There is no bottled water, you don’t need it, all the resort water is treated and safe to drink. There are stations throughout the resort, bring your own reusable cups. The piña coladas are so good!! The white wine served with dinner was a pleasing blend, not chilled, but you can get chilled from the bar.
We had a ground floor room with patio and walkout to the grounds and pool. Upper floors (2-4) have a balcony and ocean view but might be tough if you have mobility issues as there are no elevators, the porters are very helpful with luggage.
We enjoyed the palm trees and landscaped property. We also enjoyed the many visitors on our patio, local birds, mongoose, the resort cats, green tree lizards and salamanders. (No bugs or spiders)
I’ve been to Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Los Cabos and Jamaica, this place beat them all by a mile. We can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I just spent a week at this wonderful resort. The staff, from Judith in the restaurant singing and being infinitely cheerful, and all the people working at the resort, work very hard to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
The beach is incredible and you are not crammed like sardines such as you find at other all inclusive.
The food is better than we expected with many options.
It is a 10 min walk to a Waitrose grocery store for anything extra you may want. The Harbour is located in the same 10 min walk and has restaurants and stores to visit.
It is very safe to walk anywhere on the island.
This resort is a real gem. We ran into people who have been here 14 times and return every year.

My family and I traveled to Jolly Beach resort Feb 2024, my parents have been about 9 times but hadn't been back in 8 years. It was such a pleasure to see their favorite place with them. Some of the resort bldgs are closed for renovation, we were told they would be back open by June 2024. My mom said they have improved the Long Bar area and the patio area where you would dine and also the restaurant buffet area. The beds were comfortable she said those were upgraded from last time. The staff were amazing mostly, front desk ladies were not always helpful or happy but for the most part the other staff were smiling and friendly all the time. The food was good, it is NOT five star so don't expect that when you come that's not what you paid for. It was very tasty and we loved the omelet station and there was always healthy options. There were two nights with steel drum bands, and two other nights with music and they had a Super Bowl party at the long bar on a big screen. I hope that they continue to improve upon things and we cannot wait to go back. It was the most relaxed I have been in years. Great value for the money and the beach is amazing!! We had rain though which was disappointing I think next time I won't go in Feb.

my wife and I went to Jolly Beach resort in Jan 2024 and stayed there for two weeks. Staff was awesome, Had one issue and John Murphy the manager fixed it right away. Food was yummy, Nigel Mclean the head chief is so wonderful and makes sure to listen and adjust if you have any issues. staff had a smile every time you spoke to them. the rooms are as advertised. those people who say the food is bland and staff not nice are so full of crap. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. they're still setting up the entertainment and that there now are great. loved Mr. Wonderful and his sparking outfits. DO NOT BELEAVE THE HATERS. THIS PLACE IS PARADISE

What a wonderful 8 day holiday here. I am going to give this hotel a 5 star rating although it is rated as a 3 star hotel due to the wonderful staff we met here and lots of nice guests. The reception staff were great and loved the serving staff cleaners and bar staff plus the great buggie drivers all super friendly. The hotel wasn,t opened until 2022 so lots of work in progress to be done - the maintenance staff work very hard and everyone has a nice smile .Lots of the staff are new but seem very happy. Would like to say thank you to Maria from Dominica the cleaning supervisor who we had great chats with and organised our room to be cleaned pre 2 pm at my request. Also a big thank you to John Murphy the General Manager who arrange for us to have a late check out room till 5pm as our flight was at 10 pm with BA - there is no guarantee of late check outs you need to speak to reception at 8.30 on the morning of your departure to ask.
The room- we had a basic room but it had a huge balcony on the top floor of block 3 .It had the best air com ever that I have had abroad .Haven travelled loads to other countries including Antigua over the years. We paid US 10 to have our room cleaned each day well worth it to have clean sheets and towels plus the cleaners washed the floor each day and the balcony which was covered outside so you could put your suitcases outside and enjoy your room punch .Had a walk in shower plus some nice shampoo etc provided. The view from the balcony was fab loads of boats to see plus amazing sunset. My husband even saw some bats!
Other info -
1- Plenty of choice for food and bars- great drinks mainly drank Prosecco and rum punches plus the staff at the Long bar will fill up your beakers with drinks as a night cap pre sleeping.
2.Taxi to the airport fixed rate 40 US for 2 people approx 40 mins depending on the traffic
3.Excellent 2 supermarkets nearby One a Waitrose 5 min walk quite big at Jolly Beach Harbour - we got bottles of pop from there .If you smoke cigs are about 4 US plus a little supermarket just near the hotlel entrance.
4.Loved the long bar in the evenings as I dance saw 2 great bands and a fantastic steel band.
5 .Loved the buggie drivers used them all the time from reception and always had a good chat with one of them.
6 Hope to come back finances permitting as a lovely beach people and great vibes

Went from cruise ship to Jolly beach by taxi mini bus.
8 people $10 each each way.
Wanted to go to Dickinson Bay but taxi driver said it was sh.. and Jolly beach was better.
Showed us where we could get good local food as restaurant expensive on beach.Jerk chicken was good. 8$ for chicken kebab.
Sun beds and umbrella $25 for 2 people.
Beach was lovely. Sea lovely and clear.
Were lots of stalls selling over priced gifts.
Arranged for taxi to come back 2.15 was a different driver and squeezed 18 into a 15 seater mini bus $10 dollars each.
On his mobile all the way back.
No comentry from driver about anything. Everything seemed so run down houses etc.
The islanders relied heavily on tourism.

We went to the Jolly Beach Resort, Antigua. We carefully read the reviews and the resort website before booking. As a result, we were well prepared to set our expectations. As many have commented; the beach is absolutely breathtaking! Let me start with the obvious. Yes, the resort is tired looking but every day the staff work hard to repair and maintain the vast property. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the beds and pillows are new and very comfortable! The rooms are clean upon arrival. We wisely chose a superior double queen room. Our room was fully stocked with mini fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, blow dryer, even iron and board.( not that we used it). We had shampoo, conditioner and handsoap… nice touch. We had two sets of towels and two rolls of TP. As noted in reviews, we are responsible to maintain the cleanliness in our own rooms. At one point, we borrowed a broom for sweeping. We also traded in a facecloth and hand towel for fresh ones. The cleaning staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Don’t forget to tip when making trades… why not, they work hard!

There was always something tasty to eat in the buffet. Be brave, embrace the local dishes. You are on vacation after all. The Pizza Factory is very nice as well. We made two reservations as they rotate the menu. Everyone told me to order the steak. I’m Canadian, so I’m particular about the quality of beef and its preparation. I was pleasantly surprised to report, that my steak was well prepared, tender and very flavourful.

The 3 bars offer different drinks so be flexible and try something new. The staff at the bars were always very friendly with us. Always smiling and ready to make a joke. The long bar was our evening hangout! We found the entertainment very nice. Whether they had steel drums at the long bar or patio. They played well and had a wide repertoire. One evening they had karaoke which was a blast! One evening we had a local piano lounge singer. He was also very enjoyable with his beautiful tone and rendition of cover songs.

We took a bus into town. It’s the number 20 which you catch across the street from the Epicurean Grocery store. It costs $3 US for the 2 of us. John town market is a classic Caribbean town. Don’t expect smooth sidewalks or airy shops. But the people are genuinely nice (sometimes a bit pushy for our standards.). But always respectful when we decline to purchase. Overall, the people of Antigua are genuinely happy and gracious people. I felt safe.

On the down side, the information that we get from staff (especially those who are supposed be responsible to book for excursions, etc) were inconsistent at best! The repeat visitors were our best source of information lol! Yes, this vast hotel needs a lot of TLC. This of course calls for deep pockets and time! Hopefully, this current owners have both to bring this gem 💎 back to its glory days…. The alcoholic beverages they offer are not top shelf… so if you’re looking for that sort of thing, bring your own or go elsewhere. Yes, the sand flies/flees are vicious… so be forewarned. Some inconveniences when they need to do repairs (shutting off the water-usually midday after lunch) but they usually finish before 4 pm so we have plenty of time to freshen up before dinner. Yes, sometimes things breakdown or need repair. So go to the reception and ask to have someone fix it.

My overall experience was DELIGHTFUL! Judith, I hope you’re still singing when we get back. You bring me such joy as I have my breakfast! The sea is magnificent! Thank you Jolly beach, we will be back! L🌞

PS. I know I’m missing so much more but be sure that I appreciate all the efforts and hard work that goes into making this a wonderful experience!
