This place, set in gorgeous surroundings is an absolute delight. The gardens are so varied they provide interest all through the year. The walks are fabulous, with loads of vistas and viewpoints and lots of room for children to fun and let off steam. A great family day out.

Decided we would have a day trip to the Abbey, and were blown away by the visit. The gardens are lovely, what I would call true gardens, like a really big cottage garden. Some very well thought out planting that surprises you around various corners. The house is very well laid out and gives a good example of how the... More

We were very lucky to arrive in time for the free tour around the house, learned an interesting history of the place, so we were fully informed before going inside the house. Lovely experience in a beautiful setting.

This is an interesting house, much of it medieval but largely upgraded in the 18th, 19th & 20th centuries. This isn't unusual but I didn't feel the time lines were explained very well leaving this visitor somewhat confused. However, the grounds are lovely providing some good walking opportunities & making it ideal for families with good facilities for young children.

After being stuck on the A11 from Norwich for 3 1/2 hours on Easter Monday we decided to take a break here before continuing our journey down the M11 to London. We didn't go inside the house as we just needed to relax and stretch the legs so we only visited the gardens and indeed it was a delightful experience... More

Had a lovely time with friends on a whole day out on Saturday 6th may. Lovely walk, great play areas, great staff in the house. But at lunch time didn't really like being barked at by a lady saying "make sure u put your stuff on a tray and away" like being back at school. Then when we start to... More

Anglesey Abbey is a beautiful place to visit At anytime of the year. The house is exactly how it was when the last owner gifted it to the National Trust. Lots of personal items on show - clothes, shoes, kitchen etc. There are so many wonderful things to see, the numerous clocks throughout the property are a special favourite for... More

Went eventually to these gardens, that I'd been so keen to visit, we knew we had missed the snowdrops and tulips and the hyacinths - all amazing displays but even so I LOVED this place. Can't wait to go back. I highly recommend a tour of the gardens, today David showed us around and we all enjoyed his talk so... More

Situated in the small village of Lode, Cambridgeshire, approximately 10 miles NE from Cambridge, A National Trust property falling into three areas: the house, gardens and water mill. House: built on the site of the original Abbey/Priory in the 17th century. Basically totally renovated in the 1920s. Now a stylish Jacobean house with a 1920s interior, which houses a wonderful...
