The park itself is a lovely walk around a nice sized lake and a good play area for the kids but this was spoiled by inconsiderate dog owners letting their dogs run riot and attacking children. Certain dogs should be kept on leads, especially in the vicinity of a play area. On two occasions an Alsatian managed to get in the play zone and started chasing the children. Secondly on our walk around the lake my daughter was nearly attacked by a staff dog of some sort but I managed to drag her away and pick her up until the owner came jogging over claiming the dog “doesn’t bite”. It’s a really nice park but I won’t be going here again unfortunately.

A fantastic place for a walk not too far from MCR centre with a free car park too.
We took the gentle walk round the lake.
There are some great sculptures along the walk though most weren’t labelled so no idea what they were.
There’s even a café.

A green lung in this part of Salford which has a dearth of other amenities when compared to "Salford proper" especially when Clifton Green is being bulldozed for housing as I write.

Anyhow, a midweek visit for a change and the small park hut was manned and serving snacks and drinks. Lovely to walk around the so-called marina which as the last contributor mentioned is deep and dangerous as people have drowned in there.

firstly...the *lake* was formed by digging out to build M62...so complaing there is a a lake is ridiculous,,,secondly the reason there are no water sports is because it would be extremely dangerous......its a superb area for the general public

A fab walk, flat for people not steady om feet or with buggys.the fairytale trail is enjoyed by all ages.park is fantastic, toilets inside visitor centre if ask nicely, and take away snacks etc.only thing i can fault is adults walking along narrow paths four a breast so cant get past and adults grouped together in play areas chatting, just little consideration to move slightly to one side to let people past, god knows how it be when restrictions lifted as lockdown doesnt exist here, thats only thing i could fault.

No category for good. Interesting that recent reviewers criticise and then give full marks. Hey ho.

Anyhow, nice enough for a walk but this place used to be a large wooden area 25 years ago; was then destroyed by Salford Council to put in a "lake" for fishing and areas for horses and families; now most of the "growth" is scrub bushes. Still, its pleasant enough to walk around as its mainly flat and pram friendly.

Love to go here with dogs but lack of facilities, including toilets which are only accessible when tourist shop open, spoils it

Nice little place for a walk, buggy friendly on certain routes. You might want to go round a couple of times on the buggy route as it isn’t very long.
Gruffalo figure was a big hit especially for my two year old.
Nice little cafe for a brew, good price. Parking is plenty and no charge.

Just wish people would pick their dogs mess up other than that a decent place.

Starting with the only negative. For some bizarre reason you are unable to use boats on the lake. The lake would be a perfect spot for Kayaking or Paddle boarding or even rowing boats. Salford Council please get your act together! Otherwise a really hidden gem in Salford. Plus amazingly affordable housing close by!!
