NOTE : THE CAVE IS A NATURAL SEA CAVE - IT IS SLIPPERY, IT IS WET, IT IS A SEA CAVE. WE DO SEND A GUIDE WITH EACH TOUR TO AIDE PEOPLE AS NEEDED. WE DO ADVISE THE ELDERLY AND THOSE NOT FIRM ON THEIR FEET TO STAY 'UP TOP'AND ENJOY THE SCENERY AND MAYBE A RUM PUNCH OR TWO! A Natural Wonder of Barbados not to be missed. Located at the most northerly tip of the Island is the Animal Flowr Cave where the coastal scenery is spectacular. The cave got its name from the tube worms that are found in its many rock pools, these are seasonal however so not always in residence, regardless the cave itself is still well worth a visit. You can even swim inside the largest rock pool inside the cave which a fantastic adventure all by itself. Make sure you bring your swim wear and towels. The views from the naturally formed windows out to the ocean are fabulous so bring your camera too. There is now a new restaurant on site and seating area with panoramic sea views, there is a children's playpark too so plan to spend some time with us enjoying the cool sea breezes and the fabulous views that we love to share with you all. Spectacular coastline
We went on a tour of the island and specifically asked our driver to go to the north of the island. It was spectacular, we walked along the coast paths and the merging Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean has created a spectacular natural rugged beauty. You will find a coast that has been carved by the sea into plateau areas of rock and also dramatic caverns where the waves congregate and send a wall of spray into the air. Only had time for a drink at the bar there, but were definitely people enjoying lunch overlooking the coast.

Animal Flower Cave experience a must do adventure
This is one of the most spectacular sites in Barbados. It is a bit of a drive from the South coast, 30 to 45 minutes, but well worth the trip. The onsite restaurant has some of the best prepared food on the island and at a reasonable price while providing spectacular views. We visit regularly on our visits to Barbados and they are consistently great adventures with a great meal as a bonus. If it is wet and rainy the experience is as good.

    Wow!!!
Amazing exprienece! Davidson, our guide was great! He took pictures for us and was extremely helpful. The tour was great and informative. The cave pool was beyond refreshing. Wear very comfortable shoes with the terrain inside the cave (not a lot of smooth areas). The gift shop clerk was very sweet and helpful as well.

Enjoyable experience - take your swimmers!
Recommended by islanders we hired a car and drove up to the cave on the north point of the island. The less said about the roads the better, but when you get there it is worth it. We had a lovely guided experience and got to explore the cave both by foot and then swim in the cool pools. Sadly they had experienced storms in the days before got there and it had brought in a load of sand that had covered / killed the "flowers" - essentially sea anemones. It didn't spoil the experience, but was sad not to see them. Afterwards we had an amazing meal in the restaurant. Forget the typical UK attraction "restaurant" experience - this was proper five star food in a fantastic location!

    Wonderful cave, don’t buy bracelets
The cave is wonderful. I really liked it and took some very nice pictures there. We didn’t see any of the sea anemones the cave is apparently named after, but it was still stunning. Afterwards I went to have a look at the giftshops and especially at the jewelry stand. They had nice bracelets made from freshwater pearls. The two boys selling the jewelry first said to other tourists that the price was 20 Bajan dollars, but when the guy who led us round the cave turned up he suddenly said the price was 60 Bajan dollars. I found that weird but bought one bracelet because I liked it. Our busdriver couldn’t believe his ears when I told him the price. At the next stop of the tourbus, Cherry Hill, they sold the exact same bracelet for 30 Bajan dollars. My whole day was spoiled! So, don’t buy from this guy but shop around and negotiate. The cave was still stunning and I would recommend it to anyone to go and see it. I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely scenic place to cool off
We called here on our tour. There’s a lovely restaurant there but we didn’t have time to try it. We ventured down the steep steps into the cave. Sensible footwear is a must. Then we were guided over some rocks ( wet, uneven and a bit slippery). But my goodness it was worth it! Lovely pool to swim in and cool off and the photos………..

The location is amazing, with a full view of the Atlantic and the cliffs. Great restaurant there that is worth a visit!
The location is amazing, with a full Atlantic ocean view and the cliffs. The cave itself is cool, but not that large. There is a restaurant there too which is excellent, with a great menu, full of bajan flavors and good wines to go along with. I recommend!

    A must see!
This is a must see!!! We went on a day where the swells were too high and therefore the caves were closed. We hoped to get back but the weather didn’t cooperate. We were very sorry to have missed this experience. Having said that, due to the swells the walk around was spectacular. The intensity of the crashing waves away incredible to see.

    Power of the ocean !!!!
Visited on a Monday unbeknowing that it is closed but…. we were able to walk the cliiffs (at very safe distance). There was a welcome north-easterly warm breeze - the Atlantic was huge, powerful, intimidating and spectacular as it smashed into the rugged coastline. A few blowholes to watch out for as well. Obviously don’t know what’s additionally on offer when the attraction is open (we weren’t interested in the food, etc), hence 4 stars only, but don’t be put off visiting this area even when closed - there is plenty to see !

This is such a fantastic attraction with a beautiful restaurant .we couldn’t visit the caves a the sea was too rough and very dangerous so we had lunch at the restaurant, the food was spot on, the restaurant is right on the edge of the cliffs with fantastic views out to sea . There were plenty of walks along the top of the cliff with some very scary awe inspiring views . Definitely worth a visit .

A natural cave. That's pretty much it. Views of the coastline can be had at many other locations. There are no 'flowers', no 'animals', plenty of people trying to pan-handle you for over-priced souvenirs as you drive in, and a staggeringly overpriced $40 Caribbean EACH entry fee. For that, you get 40 m8nutes of slipping around in a cave, about three minutes of 'information' and the chance to 'swim' in the massive cave pool. 8' Depp maximum, capacity 5 people, get dried whilst scrabbling around on the rocks. NOT recommended for anyone with any mobility issues. They certainly won't warn you. If you are already here, loaded and have an hour to kill, then go for it. Otherwise plenty of other things to do.

We have been here so many times but each time we go we have to marvel at the beauty of the place. The view never disappoints and there is always something new to look at.
We love the food here, especially the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding special on Sunday with loads of gravy! Yum!! You always leave full and happy.

Spent the day exploring the northern part of the island. Final stop was lunch at the Animal Flower Cave Restaurant. The location sitting next to the ocean cliffs has to been one of the best views in the world. The service was excellent, food was delicious, and drinks were tasty. Definitely recommend without reservations.

We visited the cave in Jan 2024. We went without making reservations. Such a beautiful location! It is very windy here. It was breezy at our villa on the west coast but much stronger on the northern coast. We ate lunch at the sit down cafe before visiting the cave. The food was very good and I felt the price was fair based on the serving size. Staff were friendly and helpful. You purchase cave tickets at the snack bar and they will call your name when it is your time to go into the cave. The cave is 27 big steps down. We wore water shoes as the cave surface is uneven and wet. There were a few flowers on one rock in the cave. We had not worn swimsuits so we did not get into the pool. Ocean waves occasionally splash into the cave. Our guide was very helpful and made sure we all moved safely through the cave. There are tables of vendors near the cave entrance.. After we came up, our guide had something else for us to view which was his section of the vendor table area. The tour ends in a gift shop :) On the far side of the parking lot is a walking trail along the clifftops. You can also walk or drive (take first road to the left as you are leaving) further down the clifftops towards the solar panels to Sandy Hill Lynnches. It is more cliff tops but very cool with the crashing waves spraying up over the cliffs.

Definately worth a visit- really enjoyable!
Our party consisted of my friend and I. We had a lovely guide who helped us nehotiate the slippery stones and rock pools to get the best photos. He was really informative and his narrative unhurried and generally proud to show off the cave.

No swimming - obvious to us as we left the accommodation - very stormy sea.

The restaurant is also excellent.

One of our favourite trips!

We didn’t actually go in the caves as the reviews suggested not worth it and we could see the restaurant was on a go slow but the views from the top of the Cliffs were worth travelling up the North on their own.
The sea was spectacular.

20USD per person to visit a simple cave with nothing fantastic inside. A rip-off well maintained by a family who know how to do business with a cave!

Well worth the drive.

The guide was very informative (not like we would know if he’s telling the truth 😂) He made sure we got in and out safe. He answered all of my questions.

A must see on the island. What a view, what an experience. Mother Nature did well with this one!

We were unable to go down into the cave because of a physical disability, but the views from the path and top were gorgeous. That nature can make something like this is mind blowing.
