If I had to base it only on the sea I would give 5 stars. Practically a swimming pool. The problem, however, is that it is not enough. As soon as we arrived they decided to take a swim on the free beach around 5.30-6pm and the only hole we found was next to the stairs to go down with a shocking smell of piss and rubbish. I saw with my own eyes a girl giving a bidet to a 3 year old girl in front of everyone as if it were normal. In the following days we moved to the pine forest to stay in the shade and out of the chaos which turned out to be the best choice but to swim you have to walk several dozen meters in a real ANT HILL. I couldn't help but walk on the sheets of people crowded together and take the umbrellas over my head. The people on the free beach don't even respect the living space to walk, I'm not saying to spread out a towel, but for mere survival. There are entire families who arrive at 6 in the morning with kids in tow and their strollers, inflatable deckchairs and so on and so forth who spread as much stuff on the ground as possible to take up more space. Entire stretches of free beach are monopolized by squatters who place umbrellas and deckchairs upon request for a fee and then disappear when the coast guard arrives and what is even worse is that they place them empty already in the morning to delimit their area which would instead be available to everyone. We refused to get up at dawn on holiday to go and grab a place in a latrine full of bottles, plastic and cigarettes so we equipped ourselves to put the things in the pine forest, take long baths and then run away as if you are looking for relaxation, torre dell'orso is absolutely not the right place for you. The law of the most arrogant applies and if you don't want to get nervous, I strongly advise you against coming here or at least adopting a zen approach and enjoying the only thing this place can offer you: swimming in a spectacular sea (warning: often very rough!). Dirt everywhere on the beach, in the pine forest, in the street, teenagers who bivouack in the evening and at night and then leave a landfill... I'm sorry to say it but I won't return and I won't recommend it.

The sea is 5 stars, as is the view.
Unfortunately, people are literally packed in like sardines in a can!
Obviously, a lot of people inevitably means a lot of rudeness, selfishness and opportunism: for example, the typical "game" played by many, on the free beach (which is decidedly limited...), is to place a lot of beach towels around their umbrella , obviously with the aim of not having anyone around.
Of course, you could opt for the equipped beach, but the situation wouldn't improve: you would find yourself paying around 50 euros a day and having your sunbed no more than half a meter from that of another person.

We went to an equipped beach in the late afternoon to try to book 2 umbrellas and 4 sunbeds for the next day. There was an incredible confusion of people returning from the beach, trains waiting for people. On the beach the umbrellas were attached without a minimum space. And when asked for the cost, the answer was €50 for the first row and €40 for the second and up for 1 umbrella and 2 sunbeds. Frankly, a cost like this on September 16th and considering the space available I don't find it acceptable.

Imagine Caribbean beaches, peace, tranquility and a nice cocktail to enjoy… have you done? Well here it's the opposite!!! Chaos, rude people who live their deepest being without any censorship from the authorities who are on the run and are not seen, except to magically appear in the parking area.
If you don't think about going there with your family, you have two choices: 1) don't go there (recommended choice) 2) arm yourself with a Fantozzi spirit and wake up at dawn, beard and bidet and soon I'll lose my place... and yes, because if you don't show up on site at the first light of dawn you have lost all hope of finding one! At , let's be clear, the space available to you will be more or less the space of a not too pretentious beach towel.
On the other hand, the owners of the factories will have all the space of the public property at their disposal, bombarding you all day with muscle-awakening music and other nonsense.
Ultimately a beach that could be a jewel, set among splendid rocks, treated like the worst landfill... other countries would have known how to treat it as it deserves.

Overcrowded beach, expensive beaches with paid services such as shower or foot wash, zero distancing and zero relaxation. Clean sea, but too many people to fully enjoy it. Recommendation to visit at other times.

We (family of 4) loved this public beach. Sure it gets crowded and you might have to look for a spot to put down your towel, but once you are in the water, it is all worth it. The beach is clean. The kids (7&14) loved their time there and wanted to go back everyday we were in the area. Highly recommend.

The sea was among the most beautiful I've ever seen, (and I speak from Puglia) , crystal clear waters, white beach, there is a beautiful pine forest to always stay in the shade, in short, beautiful sea, town a little less, offers little in terms of clubs and atmosphere. However the transport service is bad, we arrived without a car with the idea of renting it, there is nothing, the rentals have very few cars and make fun of the guys. The means do not work, they do not pass, and the stops are really difficult to understand, they always change. There are no taxis, and the shuttles ask for a lot of money. In short, you come with your own car or you do not come at all, overall it was all very stressful

Must see!!!
Wonderful water, the two sisters easily reachable by swimming or canoe / pedal boat. Recommendation goggles or mask.
Large parking at 3€ all day.
To get there you have to cross the pine forest 10 min walk, which leads to a first lido with free beach (a carnaio) and then continue to another lido and another piece of free beach.
I'm just sorry that like all the free beaches I'm shooting there are butts and dirt everywhere in the sand

If you arrive early in the morning you still enjoy the resort, then it becomes too crowded at the edge of impractical. Lots of rude people. Compared to last year I found it dirtier and scruffier. It would take more respect, more care. Yes the sea is beautiful... as in other areas of Puglia but it is too crowded... the charm disappears... too bad.

The sea is crystal clear, but the beach in the summer months is practically the fair of the absurd. Not so much for the crowds which are normal in July and August but for the illegal management of the free beach, occupied for the first half by "illegal" chairs and umbrellas rented at high prices by dubious staff who disappear when the coast guard arrives. But then everything stays the same... It's a shame.
