In the 2 hours we learned about how a local family owned coffee farm has moved from using chemicals and mass coffee production to a very environmentally friendly self-sustainable business. Fascinating to hear about their experiences and transition. Very inspiring for anyone interested in coffee or the environment. Enjoy!

An amazing tour of an organic coffee farm that's truly committed to biodiversity and to the community. Making the world a better place, one coffee cup at a time! Very friendly guide/owner took the time to show us around and made us taste all sorts of exotic fruit. The homemade lunch afterward was delicious.

This was an outstanding and educational tour on a family run farm. Our host , Gabriel gave us a lot of information about sustainable farming practices. He is truly passionate about his product. The tour included the opportunity to try different roasts of coffee which were delicious as well as the chance to sample the many fruits that grow on... More

I cannot say enough great things about this place. I meant to write my review a long time ago, but got busy with life. Outstanding tour! They take the time and actually explain everything about coffee beans to you and show you. Small family operation, but great down to earth people. After the tour and walk of the plantation, lunch... We took part in one of Gabriel's coffee presentations and a tour of part of his plantation which is a veritable garden of Eden with bio-diversity bursting out of a tightly packed plantation. He is well-informed and brings across global and regional aspects of coffee growing in an informative and entertaining manner. He not only gives you hot coffee to... More

We arrived at El Toledo about 45 minutes early, and had no idea what to expect. We booked a reservation on a total whim - it was our last day in Costa Rica and we were traveling from the beach back to the city. The farm was where we needed a break so we booked. It was highlight of our... More

See went on this tour when we were in Atenas. It was so informative. The owner Gabriel does an excellent job at explaining how he approaches keeping his coffee plantation healthy. His family is so kind & welcoming & Gabriel's father loves to share his knowledge. I would come back to do this tour again. It is a must.

I wanted an intimate coffee tour, and El Toledo delivered. They are a family run business, and you get the feel they really love what they do. They informed us about more than just coffee, it was quite enjoyable. Bring cash, they aren't set up for cards.

Very easy to find. Helpful staff. Unfortunately, berry season was over, so there was not much to see. We did experience tasting and the roastery. Personally, I felt that the presenter was a bit long-winded as far as overselling organic farming practices. I think we all got the point early on in the presentation, and on a hot day it... More
