Worthwhile splace to visit - even out of season. Wide variety of things to see and information to read. Great to see so many thngs preserved or, at least, recorded - especially buildings and artifacts that are actually associated with this location. I liked seeing the black Clydesdales and learning some of their history, too. Extra bonus - Dogs are... More

We've driven past this amazing park countless times, thinking that it was closed during the shoulder season, or we were in a hurry to get somewhere else in the summer. But we were pleasantly surprised to find it is open is some way all year, and we enjoyed a nice visit just before Easter. They have a large gift store... More

Went to Fort Steele for the Easter Sunday. we arrived early and parked in their lot, the people after us parked in the field. Waited in line for 1\2 hour to get through gates. At about 12:30 we went to the restaurant in the village. We waited close to 3/4 hour to get a table. The menu had two items,... More

Out of season the main buildings are not open and the attractions are not running but it is still a delightful place to wander round and glimpse how the west in Canada was tamed. I had hoped the museum would be open as i am a big fan of Sam Steele... if you are Canadian and haven't heard of him... More

The Halloween day was a very SPOOKTACULAR one. The theater was good. The train raid is so memorable that I feel like keep in going there. The children were the ones who enjoyed it very much. Hope to go there again.

I'm a huge fan of Heritage Park in Calgary so imagine my surprise when someone invited us to Fort Steele and showing up there and its awesome! We were limited for time but the Halloween event was super cool (great haunted house, the feeling should return to my arm sometime next year from my my wife's death grip). Want to... More

Fort Steele is amazing. So much beauty and attention to detail. Have fun throwing your loved ones in the Jail, visit the churches and school house. Admire the beauty of the sinks in the Barber Shop! Pan for Gold. Good food, friendly staff, surrounded by the majestic mountains. Don't miss out!

Much of the town was closed as it is the low season but those that were open were very interesting. There was no entry fee as it was the low season but there was a donation box in the entry. The people working there were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely go back when more was open to really... More

Ok it's near the end of the season - town set-up was good with a nice mix of buildings. many were closed and we only saw 3 enactors in 2/1/2 hours. If they are gearing down for the year then there should be a geared down entry fee

We saw this attraction while driving through the area and stopped to visit it. What a great find. It was very interesting seeing all the historical buildings and staff were very friendly. Great shops in some of the buildings. I would definitely return to visit again.
