Dinner out with the in-laws 🇨🇦
Visiting Kelowna area (for me 1st time) Mrs is from here and decided to take her folks out for dinner. 59th Parallel Estate Winery did not disappoint. Venue was stunning overlooking the Okanagan and vineyards. The service, food and wine was outstanding. The waiter knew his stuff and as a Brit who only tips if the service goes above & beyond, he earns his tip and some. Food stunning and just a Fabulous evening - thank you 50th Parallel! 🇨🇦🍷🥂 Very impressed. Now back in Dubai.

    Just OK
Was expecting a lot from this winery as it's a more well-known one. Can't say I really enjoyed any of their wines, but of course that comes down to personal preference. Most expensive place we went all day (and we went to 7). Pricey tasting, pricey wines.

    An Exceptional Tasting Experience
Really quite a stand out experience at 50th Parallel. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly gal. We chatted briefly, and mentioned our desire to chat with the wine maker if he was available. Frankly, we heard his dog was on the property, therefore he must be, right? To be honest, we wanted to meet the dog and get a picture, as this dog is the cover dog on the very popular “dogs of the wineries (or Okanagan wineries)” calendar that comes out every year. Note: meeting the dog was second to wanting to taste their wine. Regardless, we were able to speak with Kelsey, the assistant winemaker. She has experience in wineries both in North America, and in the southern hemisphere. It was very nice of her to take the time to chat with us a bit about the wine, wine making process, and the seemingly endless amount of variables that go into creating the types of amazing wines that 50th Parallel has on offer. She has a lot of knowledge, and I am thankful for that time. Then a gentleman named Alex took over the tasting. What can I say about Alex? This man is a very eloquent wealth of knowledge when it comes to wine. More so perhaps, is his personality and love for wine that comes through during the tasting as he presents the wine, and describes it. He spoke very eloquently with descriptor words that really painted a picture of the process of making wine, and what some of the influencing factors are, what effect they can have on the wine, it’s structure, it’s taste, it’s color, aroma, or smell. He does this without a whiff of pretentiousness. I’m curious about improving or increasing my knowledge. When you get to speak with someone who clearly has dedicated a significant portion of their life to this craft, to be able to have them share their knowledge is really quite a treat. Overall, an exceptional wine tasting experience. What we tasted: Blanc De Noir 2022 Pinot Gris 2023 Pinot Noir rosé 2020 Chardonnay Pinot Noir It truly was a stand out experience, to meet the assistant winemaker, and then have Alex complete the tasting experience. Can’t recommend this winery enough. Go there, and taste one of the best Chardonnay's in the entire Okanagan.

High hopes were dashed. Halibut was barely warm and overcooked at $48. Came with three strips of overcooked squash. Fennel and herb salad was greens scattered on top. Brant Lake Wagyu Flatiron at $52 was a small piece of sliced meat with a few vegetables. Coke refill, an extra charge. Total bill for four, $340. Total ripoff. And warned: two-hour maximum stay when service was slow.

I have never been rushed out of a restuarant in my life, so there is a first time for everything. Six long-time friends got together the last week of August and from the minute we were seated felt pressure to get on with it. No leisurely visit for us. In fact the manager came over at about the 110 minute mark and stated he had another seating for our table. We were spending good money, and would have continued to - now none of us will return. Our experience - unanimously - was shameful. We felt as if we were just a number, not a customer. Maybe they should open a drive-thru...

Met you with a friend from Winnipeg with my brother. We were served by Mark who we had an instant rapport with. The food and wine was superb but the service and interaction with Mark was what made this visit so memorable. When next in the Okanagan I will definitely be stopping by again and hopefully Merk will be there. Great service a real credit to this establishment.

Lovely view from dining area & service was fine but quality of meal was definitely poor. Four of us dined here, each of us ordered a different menu item and we were all very disappointed as the food literally was bland, bland, bland. So disappointing as we have had many awesome meals at other wineries in the area, would definitely give this one a pass and try others instead.

Great food definitely on the finer side at a bit of a elevated price. The atmosphere was a little cold. Definitely a newer/modern building mostly concrete. We did not do wine tasting at this property. Overall great fine food.
