A visit to Goldstream Provincial Park during the salmon run is a treat not to be missed. There is an observation trail along the river where you can see the fish as they work their way up river. Quite a sight

GORGEOUS fall colors. Seriously. The leaves and moss were worth it alone, but the chum salmon were awesome. The park is right off the freeway with plenty of free parking. The trails are nice and plentiful. Keep in mind the visitor center closes at 4:30....More

We were short on time so didn’t venture too far from the main parking area, but what we did see was magnificent! The old growth trees were ginormous and walking through them was so peaceful! I would love to visit again and explore more!!

From the large old growth cedars in the parking area to the many hikes throughout the park, this is part of the quintessential Vancouver Island experience. A couple of waterfalls feed the main "river" which has local indigenous peoples involved in the annual Salmon run....More

Congrats to the province of BC for saving this gem of natural forest. It is great year round, but try to visit mid to late October for the salmon run. Eagle watching in Novemebr I believe.

I think you have to call them directly for these details because things might be different this year being the 150th. Busy place and really very popular spot.
