The town, and mountain area are beautiful but the ski hill (if you can call it that) is awful. Its a poorly kept bunny hill but Western standards. They don't speak English but I went with my girlfriend so I didnt mind that. The entrance fee is cheap (40rmb), but gear is expensive (100-200rmb) so bring your own clothes. They tell you to check the gear which I did thoroughly but they didnt tighten a screw and it fell out. They tried to charge my girlfriend 50rmb but I argued with them for 20mins and they only charged us 30rmb (because you have to pay a 300rmb deposit or i wouldnt have paid). The first review was right, avoid this place.

If you come from a country with snow, and have tried snow sports before, then you can skip this attraction. This is a small "snow playground" in the suburbs outside of Tianjin. It is about a 3-hour drive from Beijing, give or take some traffic. The visitors to this attraction are 99% local and first time trying out snowsports. It is not a true snow resort, as the hill is not very high and the snow is manmade. There are three small slopes, mostly suited for absolute beginners. There are not gondolas or chairlifts, only carpets. After buying your ticket you get entrance into the snow park, where there is a reception area, followed by counters to rent your ski clothes, locker key, skis or snowboard. The equiment is basic, made in China. An electronic card contains your deposit of RMB200, and your rental gear is deducted from this. After you've returned all your equipment, you use the elctronic card to get your remaining balance back. I had all my own gear, and only rented a snowboard which was RMB75. There are ski and snowboard instructors and if you've never done any snow sports before, I highly recommend this as it can be very dangerous if you don't know what your're doing. Unfortunately most people at this snow park don't seem to take the time to learn properly and on the slopes people are either taking selfies or skiing straight downhill with to stopping or steering skills. In this case, the bunny slopes are actually quite dangerous as there are many collisions. There is a children's activity area nearby, where they can rent sleds and go through a snow maze. Some people brought their dogs with them and dogs were allowed on the slopes. If you are an experienced skier or boarder, I would not recommend this park at all. Snow quality is not great, it's a hill so will be a very short ride, and too crowded with learners. There is a large restaurant, but I left before 11am (having been disappointed by what I found) so I can't verify what the meals are like. There were some outdoor stalls selling BBQ and a small cafe indoors which had nice sunshine which seemed like a good place to sit. This small cafe had a convenience store attached, with some snacks and instant noodles for sale. Outside the park are some horses for hire, for short rides. Also there is a small makeshift market selling dried fruits mostly, and some snacks. To get there: Take a bus from Tianjin Hebei Coach Station (天津河北客运站) leaving every 15 minutes from 06:00-19:00 to Ji County Coach Station (蓟县客运站) then take a bus or taxi to Panshan (盘山). Again, I would not recommend this if you have had any experience before with snow. This is really a place for locals to take their kids to have their first experience with snow, or for adults to pose in their ski gear and take selfies.
