We visited on a rainy day, so no view on Fuji san, but still enjoyed Oshino. Ponds with super Chrystal clear water, trouts in amazing colors inside!! Nice traditional Japanese buildings, not for tourists only, real families live here too. So daily life is seen....More

It is a beautiful clear water lake where we can see the bottom of the lake which is 8 meter deep. There is also a shop beside where we can taste nice taufu and buy local products.

We go there end of March & see the whole place covered in snow. Can't manage to cover the whole place due to snow covered road. Warm Fish Tofu on a cold day is a plus. Lots of Japanese pickles to bring back home 😅

It is difficult to give a definitive answer with global warming and strange changes to weather and seasons. But seems like Jan is good chance for snow. The coldest months are in Jan and Feb. Regardless, you will enjoy Oshino... More

If you are in Fuji Shibazakura festival, you can take the Shibazakura liner to Kawaguchiko station (河口湖駅), then take Mt. Fuji World Heritage loop bus to Oshino Hakkai directly. Duration is around 30 mins, fee is 1030 yen... More
