We took the lift up to the castle. The lift was very functional and didn't add much to the visit. This was a good way to get up but we walked down which was nice and reduced the price. The only way to see the...More

Birds of prey not to be missed! Drove a BMW M3 from Salzburg as a day trip to Eagles Nest Berchtesgaden and then lunch in the tavern while it snowed intermittently just for effect! Almost no people and no tour groups

Hohenwerfen Castle can only be visited with a guided tour in German, and non-German speakers are given audio guides for the tour. The tour costs 12 EUR, and the roundtrip funicular from the car park to the castle costs 3.50 EUR. We opted to take...More

Great option for 1 day trip from Salzburg. Guided tours in ticket price. Many languages available. Even Polish :) Very nice staff and good food, not pricey at all in castle's tavern.

The visit of Werfen in combination with the birds of pray is probably one of the best things to do in the area around Salzburg. Easy access with funicular and the town Werfen is very close for having lunch (Obauer Restaurant). You can certainly also...More

good organized, and well maintained! The falcon show is really impressive, despite it is pretty small, people could easily spend 3 hours.

Nice ride up to the castle. The bird of prey show was excellent but non German speakers were totally left out. Tour excellent. The Bell tower a thrill. The big downside was climbing literally hundreds of stairs both up and down. Need to let people...More
