Located at the north of Burqin County, Kanas Lake which means “beautiful, rich and mysterious” in Mongolian is a typical alpine lake on Altay Mountain with an elevation of 1,374 meters. Unfortunately this region became one of the last victims of Chinese mass tourism what resulted in an overdose of loud people with no respect to nature and local people's customs. The Tuwa village (Hemu) is unfortunately changing in some kind of Chinese Mickey mouse park with too many shops and restaurants and ugly plastic yellow, blue and orange" Chinese Mobile"... More

The arrival of technology and bus load of tourists had a remarkable changes to this once secluded outback.Women were on their blue jean and men with the latest Iphone.Kids were busily fiddling with the latest electronic gadget..Life at this part of the world could be very tough.Even at September the night temperature could dip below 20 degree C and the... It took an hour on a very winding road by bus from Jiadengyu Forest Park (Hongfu Kanas Lake Resort) to the bus station (where you need to change to their bus). From there it is another hour on a narrow road with lots of tourist buses where you will find yourselves in a fairly new Tuva type house (wooden block... More
