Intended to visit caves but steep cobbly path down to them resulted in both my husband and myself falling thus curtailing our visit. A shame there isn't a safe path or steps as caves have quite a few tourist visitors, especially GoT fans. Photo taken sitting on stones after our fall. Luckily we were not hurt__ too much!

Having seen the previous review about the cave being closed, we nearly didn’t stop here but, in fact we thoroughly enjoyed a wander along the beach, across the bridge and down to the caves. It really isn’t far, the scenery was beautiful and the village was interesting and pretty. The large cave is currently fenced off but the smaller one is open and, not being Game of Thrones fans, this was ok for us. We finished off with a cup of tea in the lovely village tearoom.

We visited this location during a 3-day tour of Northern Ireland with Rabbies in May 2019. Yes, this review is delayed, so sorry.
Normally these would just be sea caves, but they are where Ser Davos and Lady Melisandre landed ashore in season 2 of the Game of Thrones and where there was a battle between Jamie Lannister and Euron Greyjoy later in the show. So to GoT fans they are worth a visit. Like so much of this coast, it's quite beautiful and worth a stop even if you are not a GoT fan.
I would recommend if it's not too out of the way.
The nearby village of Cushendall is also quite lovely and worth a visit, and it is apparently where Irish King O'Neill was killed and from where his decapitated head was sent to Elizabeth 1 representatives in Dublin. So, beautiful and tragic.

park in the lot on the other side of the bridge and walk back to the entrance to the caves. It's hidden behind some homes and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it's turned into a tourist trap so the locals must hate it. there are no signs for it or where to go so find it on your phone gps and then walk towards it. USE THE GRASSY TRAIL TO THE RIGHT and don't walk along the beach. the caves are wondrous and a quick stop as you drive up the antrim coast. I never saw GOT and still appreciated the natural beauty.

We stopped here as part of a coach tour. It was one of the best stops. The walk down to the caves was picturesque & once inside it was stunning. Take a walk through to catch the view from the cave out across the water, it’s stunning.

Loved this. Really stunning and only a very short walk from the village centre. Game of Thrones filmed here and the caves are really interesting. Fab wee beach along the road too.

Great little trip up to the picturesque seaside village of Cushendun in the Glens of Antrim. Got to visit the Cushendun Caves famous from from scenes in the multi award winning Game of Thrones TV Show. Lovely seaside views along the stoney beach and then there is also a great sandy beach on the otherside of Cushendun for walking, relaxing, reacreation and leisure.

The area around the caves is absolutely beautiful. I found the caves to be fascinating. The walls were made up of giant round rocks and solid dirt. Make sure you wear shoes to walk to the caves. The beach is made up of lots of tiny pebbles and will suck the flip flops off your feet.
The town has a few wonderful little pubs with good food. The caves are definitely worth the drive.

If you are a GOT fan you are going to love visiting these caves. They aren’t huge but very majestic and right on the Ocean. You will recognize them from the show as they shot several scenes here. They are tucked away behind what appears to be an Oceanside condominium. There really isn’t anywhere to park as this isn’t an official tourist site and there is no entrance fee....you just walk around. I suppose at some point there will be some type of control set up but currently there is none. I am sure the residents who live here don’t appreciate the tour buses and people just roaming around their neighborhood.

The is where Ser Davros and Melisandre landed and where she gave birth. Dark, cold, and damp. The locals don’t appear to welcome visitors.

Hi, I am quite claustrophobic. How enclosed are the caves?

Not very much at all. The longest cave is only about ten metres, and all are quite high. It is not a very extensive network.

We only had a brief stop in the caves as part of the GoT tour. We stopped here for about 20 minutes before sunset. Trust me, it is the part I remember the most. The views are to die for. So it really depends on how much you enjoy the scenery, and man if you have your car? You will not leave :)
