This temple is located at the Saraswati Ghat area of the river Yamuna, just opposite the Minto park and adjacent to cantonment area, about 8 Kms from the main city. The temple is a Siddh peeth of Adi Guru Shankaracharya and comes under the domain of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati. There is a small temple with a colorful stripes at dome, devoted to Lord Shiva. Nearby you’ll see a statue of Nandi (sitting bull) and Lord Ganesha. A big peepal tree ,close by ,overshadows this temple. I saw many big and small Trisuls and few shivlingam at the base of this tree, offered by the devotees. On the other side of the temple, is a small iron caged place for performing rituals and Hawan .Some ritual was in progress, when I entered in this temple Priest was chanting some kind of Mantra and devotees performing hawan. Rudrabhishek is the main ritual, which is performed here by the priest and devotees, simultaneously. Its timing is written here as from 11Am to 5 PM .This is kind of ritual where continuous thin stream of milk is poured on the head of Lord Shiva ,for about and hour. It is said that Lord Shiva pleases by this process and fulfills the wishes of devotees. Monday and Shivratri are most auspicious days ,when large number of devotees throng here .The central path inside this temple complex leads toward a channeled gate ,which further descends through broad stoned steps towards Shankaracharya Ghat , situated at the bank of river Yamuna. This temple has a commanding view of river Yamuna . Thus this place is a spiritual, as well as scenic.

This place was hidden from me untill 15 years. But the belief people have around this one is timeless. Its not a massive setup and can become crowded but situate on the yamuna bank this temple has a special significance for siva devotees. I went in early morning and found it too crowded. Evenings are again loaded with devotees.

This place has changed now with cctv n steel gates security etc.
I used to visit this temple for our multiple games during summer months and morning time for winters.
Visiting this temple again after so many years is like reliving my childhood in a eye blink.

The Mandir (Temple) is located on the banks of the Yamuna, very close to the Allahabad Fort. We initially planned to visit it on Monday, the traditional day of 'Shiv Puja', but decided against it seeing the serpentine line waiting for the Darshan. Visited it on the next day when it was peaceful and nice to visit. Worth a visit, except on Monday, unless you are a 'Shiv Devotee'.
