This is an iconic piece of rock in the area. Great fun to photograph and be photographed near. Will it ever fall over and roll down the slope? That's the question. I'm sure it will at some stage, but hopefully not yet. Everyone has a go and trying to ove it, but it win't budge. Great fun.

Why this stone hasn't rolled over is a mystery. The whole site here is mesmerising. A must if you are in Tamil Nadu.

Many rocks in the light house compound. Good to visit as part of the walk around the park. Not worth to specially come for the view. Should visit as part of Mahabalipuram tour but will miss nothing if not passing by

This is usually the first stop on the Mahabalipuram tour. A large free standing rock impresses with its location.

This huge spherical rock perched on a flatter bed of granite is quite interesting to visit, specially if you are already visiting the Mahabalipuram sites. Certainly a great photo opportunity a few minutes walk between some ancient shrines.

More impressive viewing in person than in photos. It is huge and it is on a slope that I had to approach in a round-about manner to keep from sliding.

The rock is situated in such a manner that it defies gravity. It is surprising to see how can a rock be situated in such a manner. There are ancient caves and temples nearby which are also good.
