Trip from lachung to gangtok is great. It offers great sight seeing. But at zero point our driver stopped the car 20 kms before the border and going further is prohibited . Hence we were disappointed.

Except cold, nothing else to experience. It's a big risk traveling such long distance with landsliding happening around. Not worth it at all.

Yumthang, zero point is near to Lachung. One has to leave early morning from Lachung to see this fabulous place, sorrounded by snow mountains.

winters will be harsh ..so Oct may not be the right time..most of the times it will also be closed due to heavy snowfall..

You have to stay in Lachung. We stayed in Hotel season house. Was very good

we stayed in Griffon's nest..its uphill..away from the city noices..rate is cheap..
