This temple is dedicated to the Sun God. It shares its boundary with Ranakpur temple. The East facing temple was built in 13 century ie before Ranakpur temple.
It has intricate carvings.

It is best combined with Ranakpur Temple visit

The Sun Temple in Ranakpur is also known as Surya Narayan Temple, it is an ancient temple aged over 500 years. The Sun temple is located next to the Jain temple, but the nearest gate was closed, hence we had to come out from Jain Temple to visit the Sun temple, it was 1-2 minutes’ drive. The temple was less crowded. Sun temple is built on a raised stone platform. Like other Sun temples, it is also facing the east direction. Idol of Lord Surya is seen as riding his chariot. The temple has nice carvings of warriors, horses etc. It is a small temple and don’t take much time to visit.

The Sun Temple in Ranakpur is called the Surya Narayan Temple. The temple is managed by the Udaipur Royal family trust. It is situated on the main road near Ranakpur Jain Mandir. The temple is a must visit for the intricate carvings of horses, celestial bodies, and warriors on walls and revel in the architectural glory of the ancient eras. One has to spend few minutes and see the carvings on the side walls of the temple. Built originally in the 13th century, the temple was reconstructed in the 15th century. There is a small amphitheater outside the temple for social gatherings and performances during festivals.

In a land of many temples you might ask yourself whether you should go and visit this Jain temple. The answer is simply that you should. We were both really impressed - a series of stunning dome shaped areas with an abundance of awesome carvings. My top tip is to leave your water and food in the car as it won’t be allowed inside.

The temples were wonderful.
I got back all the items I had inadvertently left behind thanks to the efficiency and honesty of Mr Ravi Bawla who courired all the items to my home in Delhi. Very commendable and thank you Ravi.
