Many people from nearby areas actually visit Dimapur for this Honkong Market only. Yes, its a very big market offering almost everything. I had only 1 hour in hand to explore and it was really awesome..They quote very high prices but u bargain well to get the best price...

Overcrowded and narrow lane market It does have most of the items in reasonable range. You need to bargain a lot. There are no boards as such so you have to find your way. It is better to go with some one known for the first time.

Bought a bunch of stuff from this market at reasonable prices so it was well worth the time spent. Dimapur in itself is a fantastic place to meet some of the friendliest folks in the state.
This market gets quite busy though, best time is between 3pm to 6pm as things wind down for the day

The Hong Kong Market in Dimapur came up in the early 80s. It was started by tibetan traders and a few local young people. Most if the goods sold here are from Bangkok or China. The market was known throughout the North East as the latest styles were available. The advent of net marketing has taken a toll on the market. Most of the tibetan traders have migrated to other countries. Now you will get cheap Chinese goods smuggled from Myanmar. Not worth visiting. The alley ways are crowded and dirty. Muddy when it rains.

Basically a market for counterfeit clothes and shoes from Thailand and Myanmar. Goods can be bought cheap after deft negotiations, but don't expect durability. Can visit for a day.

Hongkong market in Dimapur is the best place to buy foreign goods. But be careful while negotiating price there, you may get cheated or have to pay overpriced.

It's a market of many choices with high as well as medium range prices. It's a market where the clothes are in varieties, much better than many markets I visited as I travel. Most clothes are from Thailand, Korea and Hong Kong. I mostly look for the korean products.
