I was a bit disappointed in this village. It's certainly charming and interesting, but it's mainly packed with restaurants and souvenir shops, making it far less authentic than I'd hoped. Getting there from Tunxi is very straight forward, taking a two hour bus ride for...More

Great place to see the old buildings of Huangshan. Lots of authentic old food choices. Beautiful village. Only down point is the loud noisy tour guides

Hongcun is beautiful. We stayed in Zhang Mansion Hotel which was just perfect to avoid the afternoon's crowds. Staying overnight allows you quiet time in the village. Best photos early morning and sundown.

Reached after a long drive from Huangshan City. A popular spot for locals. A half-moon shaped pond is a big attraction. It was dug by successive local leaders in Qing dynasty. Some Qing style houses (nice gardens) and public halls.
