The Longji Rice Terraces is a wonderful place to see. (Tripadvisor lists this as Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces instead.) I went there in late September 2017. The weather was rather unsettled. The first day was cloudy but the second day was sunny. Sunlight makes all...More

The Longji Rice Terraces is located north of Guilin and takes about 2 hours of driving to go there. It is sometimes known outside China as the "Dragon's Back Rice Terraces". I have had a lot of trouble finding Longji Rice Terraces on Tripadvisor, hence...More

I was fortunate to arrive in late September - just as the rice terraces were going from green to yellow in colour. They were absolutely gorgeous. It was a 3 hour drive up into the mountains north of Guilin. I had a guide with me....More

The Longsheng rice terraces is an unforgettable experience! We visited "Nine Dragon Seven Tiger" on 9 May 2017 when the terraces were filled with water which sparkled and danced under the glow of the late afternoon sun. How the terraces have been carved out is...More

We started from our Hotel in Ping'An (Longji One Art Hotel, which by the way is highly recommended) at 8:30 in early September. Our first stop was the 'Nine Dragons and Five Tigers' viewpoint with a nice overview of the Ping'An rice terraces. We walked...More

Visit this magical place before too long as tourism for the Chinese market is booming and hotels are going up like mushrooms! The rice terraces are truly spectacular extending for miles down and around the hills. Walking is the only way to see them, trainers...More
