This reserve is part way through the Waioeka gorge a lovely spot to stop and have a picnic, no shops very peaceful with native untouched bush clad hills.

Have been through here a couple of times over the last 12 months and thoroughly enjoyed it each time, warning to watch out for wasps at the Tauranga Bridge picnic spot.

While the gorge drive is stunning in itself and takes you through cute, small towns such as Matawai the stop at 'Tauranga Bridge' is well worth it. A little walk off of the parking will get you through some native bush to the 'Tauranga Bridge'....More

Really nice drive. Nice places to stop for picnics and walks down to the stream/river. I recommend you stop at the historic bridge for a look.
