In the western part of these mountains a road crosses between Nurota and Navoi. By this road are some rock outcrops with ancient Petraglyphs carved into them. They are difficult to find but they are worth while

Great place for hiking and getting to know local life !

Nuratau Mountain range in best place for easy to medium difficulty hiking tours. The area is the only place in Uzbekistan with network of mountain homestays and yurt where people can experience local hospitality living with local families and get to know about their customs and traditions. The location of the mountain range allows people to visit the mountains in combination with Lake Aydar. Nuratau is a great place for exploring something different or just taking a rest in the nature between Samarkand and Bukhara if you have seen too many mosques and madrasahs in any of those cities.
