Its a very ancient monastery. It has beautiful old paintings of Buddha. Beautiful souvenir shops are even available. Photography is not permitted inside the monastery. And ya you kind of have to bend to go inside the doors.

Its one of the oldest monasteries. Though nothing much to explore / climb up, but usually people include in the tour at this region. Beautiful suvenior shops are available here & much scope to bargain

This b is a very old monastery tucked away in Alchi on the way to Lamayuru from Leh.it has beautiful old paintings of Buddha and other deities and is a must for those interested in ancient architecture

This monastery is from the older Indian/Kashmiri school of Buddhism and is therefore very unique in Ladakh. Being comprised of a series of lowish buildings photographing them is not that interesting and photography is not allowed inside. But go, nonetheless.

this is 800 yrs old gompa.approx 70km from leh.so many restaurants,shops around this gompa.so many apricot trees are on the both side of the road leads to this gompa. i really enjoyed this gompa route.
