This is one of the highest monastery in world. Komic is the highest village inhabited in the world. It offers great views and there is a restraunt too.

As we reached at the monastery, we could see a few other cars pull up next to us. The chilly air blew and we entered the monastery. However, the monastery was isolated and locked. We explored the monastery, admired the art work and read through the teachings that were put up on the boards. It was just us tourists, at the monastery. This was my favorite Monastery in Spiti valley. With the quiet calm and nothingness around it, I would absolutely love to spend a night or atleast a part of a day here. Provided, the loud and boisterous tourists don't spoil the mood for you. The difference in tourists visiting Leh and Spiti was so obvious here, as we struggled to take in the view of the lofty peaks, from the veranda of the monastery, and the beauty of the calm interior, amongst all the shouting and selfies of the un-initiated tourist, asking you to move so that they could take their selfies. This is the highest village, connected with road and inhabited throughout the year. We reached here in the last week of June, 2018 and were lucky to have seen the monastery, built hundreds of years ago. The scenic beauty is simply breathtaking.
