Went to Khajjiar lake this December. It wsa a nice experience. Around 2 hour drive from Dalhousie. Its a lake and a green ground in the valley. There are some hotels and eateries around. You can hourse ride, paraglide, do zorbling here. We took the horses up the mountain. It was fun and a good experience. There is a small park with some adventure activities for kids on the top. Not worth for grown ups to do those activities. But good view of the himalayan range itself is a good sight.

Good to visit. Few activities are there to enjoy. Paragliding is also possible near by which one can avail. couple of spots are also there if one wish to visit, which I personally felt not worth it.

Went to the place as had heard a lot about it. From that perspective it was a let down. However, the place is decent for a day out if you have nothing much to do. Its a beautiful valley with a small lake / pond in the middle. Overall a good place to spend some time on a sunny day.
There are some green areas nearby which young couples may like to explore but not sure of safety as there are bears in the nearby forests as seen on signage enroute.
Its an hours drive from Dalhousie. My view is that visiting here for few hours might be better than trying to spend some days here, i.e. unless you just want to relax with your book/music and scenery

It was a Picnic with Team we enjoyed our trip to Khajjiar, Had started around 11:00 from the Hotel and visited Dainkund first and then reached Khajjiar. Best tourist attractions in Chamba only HP Administration should take few steps to make it clean lake looks so dirty in and out all-around.
It was perfect road towards Banikhet to Khajjiar have not found any problem on the way.
It was fine visit to Khajjiar The Mini Switzerland of India

Nice scenic view. It's approx 30km from Dalhousie. Morning travel is preferable. You need to have your transport or book a taxi. The roads are narrow but maintained. Beware of hawkers selling herbs.

Its truely amazing. Its a big big natural landscape garden with few activities. Famous for movie shootings (KKHH summer camp). We went on a weekend, so lots of traffic. Otherwise good place for a half day picnic. Food is ok. Good place to click pics.

Khajjiar Lake is a place which needs serious improvements. In the current state the lake terrible at best. If given a chance I would give it 0 rating. When the snow is on the road which leads to Khajjiar, the 3 hr long journey from Dalhousie may not be worth it. It is pretty taxing and doesnt even stand upto its reputation. If there is direct road of 20km then it may be worth it.

Looking at it one can easily guess that it was once most beautiful in past. Not now. The lake is now dirty and devoid of water. Locals say that forest department and PWD are involved in bad politics regarding the revival of the lake. Result: the lake is ruined.

The 360 degree deodar will just tempt you to enjoy..
You may enjoy paragliding or bubble games or just roam about... we went in January2021. So we got lots of fresh snow in front of Khajji cottage..

10 days is what you must keep to visit all these places . winter is harsh and traffic jams and over-crowding is common. Snowfall is generally around December end and mid January.
