Nice place, a short visit on the way. Another sanctuary on the area, very narrow road to drive , in the sanctuary. When reaching the end some local places to drink and snack

How this can be called a wildlife sanctuary remains a mystery to me. It appears simply a money making scam that is very poorly managed.
There is litter throughout the park despite the fact there are bins. There is no visitor centre and the information boards are well past their best.

The place is nice but small. Further, there are nothing in it to qualify as a sanctuary. It is a small nature reserve. You can get some natural wild products like honey etc. from a shop at main gate.

It's a wonderful place to get away to from Dalhousie. Can be visited in the course of a day, but my advice would be to stay on for a few days and enjoy the surrounding forest.

It is a beautiful jungle and ideal place to trek. The trek route is along the earthen road. The vehicular traffic is less due to entry fee. We did not see any animals but people say that bears have been sighted, if you are lucky. The forest guest house and restaurant are available for night stay. Must visit place.

3 Kms of road reaching kalatop. Can be access by road or walking. Walking would be more exciting as you can feel fresh and nature around you. There is entry fee of Rs. 250/- for a car. But if you go walking no charge. If you love to trek than go walking only, you want regret.

They charge Rs 250 for a vehicle to enter and drive this one 3 kms uphill. The road is graded to say the most. It’s very uneven and only suited to a 4WD SUV; it’s a painful hike and one wonders why can’t they do a proper blacktop considering the amount of money they collect. It’s a small garden front ended with a a sales shop & has a few restaurants besides a vantage point for viewing the surrounding Chamba district. We were through with the experience in about 15 minutes and what a disappointment it was! Considering the time (30 minutes in an SUV) spent and the money paid. Overrated!!!

Call at +91 189 922 2639 or +91 189 922 7503. It's the number of DFO Chamba fur Kalatop FRH booking.
Maybe you will be required to call 3/4 times before you can reach them for your booking.
Hi,
can you tell us how did you book room at the rest house at Kalatop?

Wow the idea of spending a night in the midst of the jungles at Kalatop definitely thrills me, but be aware that the facilities might not be very good. Yes you need to call the district forest office, Chamba for booking the bunglows at Kalatop. Alternatively, you can stay at Khajjiar or Dalhousie and make a visit to Kalatop for a few hours.
