Few people know that Pinjore garden is open in evening with colourful lights all around. One can take tickets till 7:30pm, garden is open till 8:00pm. Restaurants inside are open beyond that. We enjoyed the different view of the garden in comparison to day visit. Its fountains, trees, canals, ponds and walls were illuminated with different colours of lights. Ticket for Camera is very high (11,500/-), so we have to content with our mobile cameras only. Lots of beautiful pictures taken inside by us. We have snacks in restaurants situated at left side in the end. Several fountains were not working, may be due to few tourist visit in evening. The location of the garden associates itself with Pandava, as it is believed they stayed here during their exile. It has been renamed as ‘Yadavindra Garden’ in the memory of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh former of the princely state of Patiala. After it was initially built by Fidai Khan, the garden was refurbished by him and restored to its former splendor. Unlike Mugal Garden of Srinagar, J&K the seven terraces of this garden descends as you go to end.

Very nice trip. Gardens and buildings are pretty well looked after. Perfect temperature in late December. (Not all the fountains were going)

Instead of waiting at the station to catch our evening train from Kalka to Delhi, we decided to spend a couple of hours exploring the Pinjore Garden, 15 minute drive from Kalka. It turned out to be a very good decision and we ended up spending more than 3 hours in the garden.

It’s a Mogul / Mughal garden spread over a large area and is well maintained, except the public toilets inside the complex which need improvement. Entry ticket is for Rs.25/- per person. Car parking Rs.40/-.

Some activities are separately chargeable - camel ride (Rs.150/-) and train ride are there. You’ll find a bunch of local shops selling handicrafts, artificial jewellery, toys and more. The prices of mostly all the items were quite reasonable as compared to many touristy places and markets in North India.

The architectural buildings / rooms inside the complex have been renovated and are available as hotel rooms for accommodation. The restaurant and bar in the park are moderately priced.

While you’re in Kalka and have some spare time in hand, do visit it’s worth it.

Built on 7 terraces , Pinjore Gardens bring together great Mughal architecture and the best of nature. The gardens offer a fountains surrounded by well manicured gardens. We sat under the huge bunch of mango trees near the restaurant and this was the coolest afternoon things that we have done in some time.

Great place for a family outing and weekend picnic. Just adjoining the garden is Japanese Garden with fun games and car racing etc. I Simply luv this place for its land scape and variety of flowers and plants. Best time to visit is spring season.
