This discovery has made the town of Balasinor very much popular. The fossils of many species of dinosaurs lay here and the most popular of them is of the Narmadensis Rajasaurous. This is best for educational tours.

This is one of the best dinosaur museums that I've visited till date, and I would argue this matches one of the best. Has just the right amount of detail and it is very well laid out. I would highly recommend everyone with kids to make the trip to see the museum. The park on the other hand is a little underwhelming and could do with additional signage and descriptions. We accompanies princess alia, who at least was able to walk us through the history which made fossils come alive.. else they are just rocks.

The museum is fun and informative..kids really liked it..there is a small canteen that serves poha, bonda, samosa, etc but we did not eat there so cannot comment on quality. Bathrooms were clean and drinking water was available. The fossil park was small and had around 15 fenced area with fossil imprints and some information on those. We can spend max 2 hours at museum and park. Road from Ahmedabad to balasinor is in good condition, so it made for a good rrive.

One does not associate India with the dinosaur fossil world, and though we had been to 3 tree fossil parks around the country, we had not quite had Balasinor on our bucket list till recently.
The fossil park offers the unique experience of viewing the fossils 'in situ', where they've been for millennia, with no embellishment. It is vast, about 70 hectares, with the fossil embedded rocks strewn around, now protected from vandals and thieves with fencing. It is a pity that the majestic kings of that era, several tons of brute force now need to be protected!
The museum has lovely visual displays that take you through the millennia of evolution, to extinction of the area and these magnificent fauna of that era.
The icing on the cake would be if you could arrange the visit with the local celebrity, Nawabzadi Aliya, the palaeontologist who breathes life back into the whole long-gone experience.

The newly opened Dinosaur Museum is worth a visit. The audio visual presentations are very informative. There are no major fossils in the museum except for fe eggs as the rest have been shipped to major museums in Bombay, Hyderabad, Calcutta etc. The 10 to 15 minutes of 3D film is worth the praise. The museum is new barely 4 months old so do visit ASAP before it starts to deteriorate like all other government properties. Avoid Sundays and holidays as it will full with school children. A very funny rule I had to deposit my camera at the entrance as photography was not allowed by inside all were clicking away with their cellphones, more stupid it cannot be. We also visited the outdoor fossil park. Do go there with a guide who can explain it to you what it all means. For those interested and want to increase their knowledge it is a fossil for a layman just stones. One can get a guide from the museum but there are not many. Another good person to go with is Nawabzadi Aaliya Sultana Babi the daughter of the present Nawab of Balasinor. She conducts two tours per day one at 10 am and another at 2.30pm. Contact the Balasinor Garden Palace for further information. She is also called the Dinosaur Princess and took care of the fossils and marketed the place before government took over officially. A guide can spot a fossil and explain it to you. Good place to visit if you want to learn about the evolution of our planet earth. A recommended trip for all children and walk and talk with them and listen to the audio-video presentation. It can be reached easily by car from Ahmadabad and Baroda and spend a night in the heritage property the Garden Palace in Balasinor and experience a bygone era of Nawabi tehzeed and delicious food. There is a small entry fee for the museum while the open fossil park is free. Kindly take the photographs with a pinch of salt as they get uploaded haphazardly and not in the order one has shot them.

Nearly 100 km away from both Ahmadabad and Vadodara, this place is very informative for all with grand museum and developing info park for exposed morphed remains of Dinosaurs. Many people feel off roads but you can combine yours visit with Dakor famous temple, and nearby other attractions. This newly developed attractions is one of the well managed museums with very little fees. Must visits for kids.

From a westerner's perspective, it's just okay. Definitely not worth the almost 2 hour drive from Ahmedabad.

The claim of having the third largest fossil collection is a stretch. I personally don't buy it. They don't have any complete skeletons like at the Smithsonian or the Natural history museums in NY and Chicago.

The fossil park has no map or help to find the fossils, except for a couple of guides who charged 500 rupees, which is extravagant on Indian standards. So, you're mostly on your own.

The museum is mostly some rooms with pictures, models, and videos. There is one fossil room, which has about a dozen or so individual fossils on shelves (pieces of vertabrae, fractured leg bones,...etc.)

The restaurant is mainly a snack bar and is pretty dirty. I'd recommend packing your own snacks.

My daughter loves dinosaurs but really was underwhelmed, as we all were.

Again, not worth the drive.

The Dinosaur Park is situated in Raiyoli village, about 15 kms (30 mins) from Balasinor. It's the 2nd largest dinosaur hatchery and 3rd largest dinosaur excavation site. If it's possible book a private tour with Princess Aaliya (Nawabzadi of Balasinor), also known as Dinosaur Princess for a private tour. She explained the origin and history of the eggs. She took us to the various sites where there were fossilized bones and explained which part of the body they were from. Bones of a specific species of dinosaur were excavated here. It was named Rajasaurus as it had a small horn on the forehead. From the Fossil park she took us to the Dinosaur museum. It has a souvenir shop and around 9 sections on different kinds of dinosaurs and origin of homo sapiens from apes. It is senior citizen friendly.
It's 2-3 hours well spent.
