The place is located near rajamundry. From the hotel where you stay you can book for a day tour which is econimical and worth the cost
We started the day early at 7 am as we had to reach the destination to catch the boat. Prefer to take the tour veichle which they would provide as the road is bad and once you reach parking is at your risk (full day)
Soon you would end up forgetting the road once the boat leaves the river (godavari)
You are welcomed by a MC / DJ / guide .... Whatever you would like to name him - but for sure her would keep you busy with his jokes (sometimes irritating) - the whole time is very well planned by these people - games , dance , entertainement program all on the boat and with nature to admire
There are few stops it make and you can get down to see these places which mostly are temples - but worth the visit. One such place is where you can buy stuff made out of bamboo which is just amazing (remember to purchase as soon as you get down as it would go like a wind)
The whole staff on the boat is very friendly and helpful. It has a small canteen where you can buy munchies. They would serve you breakfast and lunch along with evening snacks - which is decent and edible
For nature lovers its an ideal place for photography - you also have an option to stay at one of the small islands which needs to booked earlier (sure would be worth)
In the end its a day well spend by all means

This papikondala tour in about is a memorable experience with Friends and families. The boat was loaded with all essentials in advance . Started at 9 am and were enjoying the upstream of Majestic Godavari river . The little known rain water fed river was revealed as we travelled further upstream and the valley was full of life and creatures unperturbed by human habitations.the upstream travel was four hours and had a visit to the temple followed by return. The atmosphere on the boat was electric with all age groups having theirs fun. The photographers had their full with natural beauty.will be back again with more fun .

Godavari River - One of the best places to explore in Andra Pradesh.
Boats are comfortable for a half day trip but use plastic cups for water and then dump into the river. Very sad state of such a wonderful river
Stayed there in the Bamboo huts.
Place needs lot of improvement- No proper washrooms

Towards the end of the boat ride, the performers, including the anchor and dancers, began to claim that they were not paid salaries. They mentioned that these boat rides only happen once every 20 days, and that they are all students struggling financially. They created a convincing narrative that they were starving and unable to support their families. At one point, the anchor announced the name of a couple who supposedly donated Rs 2000, even though no such couple was present. (We knew this because they had previously called almost all the couples to the stage, and on that particular day (7/7/2024), the boat was only half occupied with everyone in the upper deck). They then showed this money to everyone and solicited donations. This appeared to be a scam to me. Don't fall for it. Later, after collecting money from several people, they said they organize events and asked the audience to contact them for event services. This implies that while they might not be salaried employees, they are business owners seeking additional income.

I do not recommend this Papikondalu boat tour, 7:30am-7:30pm. One hour bus journey followed by boat. Loud music at 110dB for entire 8 hours, boat crew do not collect the lunch plates and cups and so these overflow, many people throw cups into Godavari river, narrow planks to get on and off boats. Instead take a 2 hour boat tour.

Overall the trip was good, may be not worth a second time
1. The trip does not start at 7.30, the Tata magic vehicles start at about 8.45 am, and they is a huge confusion which vehicle to assign and start and you cant even have a private vehicle
2. This road trip itself is very otherwise nice and enters a forest range, the distance is not 60km it is 104 km
3. Breakfast was not served at 9 as in Itenery, it was served at 11, I call that brunch
4. Don't expect to see the boat with same name, we got some different boats in both ride, there is some one that will guide you to your boat, breakfast tent etc, but you dont know who it is before, it is like a surprise maze game.
5. The first boat ride does not have a AC option, it was still hot and sweating even in December (There are AC rooms but not switched on, everyone is expected to be on top deck)
6. The boat crew does some performances, DJ, singing, dancing calling out people from participants, few were nice, sure few people were offended mostly not, who did not want to participate but were called for
7. This is a down for me, i wanted to go through in peace enjoying the river and mountains and expected crew to say something useful about the place et al. The music is blaring loud and every boat does the same.
8. Stop at village and visit the temple and but some handycrafts, next 10 mins to Lunch
9. The Lunch was served at 2.40, again itenery said 1.30 pm Lunch, So please pack enough food items if you have children or elderly.
10. Breakfast and Lunch was not great but ok and palatable, they say water is not available and offer to buy in boat, however there is a provision to refill water at this camp.
11.Finding next boat was a puzzle, walking over one boat to other, this organizing is pretty poor
12. This boat had AC and let us in the AC deck, blaring music again, and some bachelor guys drinking and dancing
13. These guys got down at next stop almost 10 mins away and there was thankfully no music for next 1 hour
14. Boat was deserted it was only a 6-8 ppl excluding crew, with few alcohol bottles around, not a welcome view, still this one was better without ear piercing sound (I don't want to call that Music)
15. The crew served some snacks at 4 pm, the boat ride lasted 2 hours where they dropped us in a place that leads to Rajahmundry
16. Toilets in the first boat was usable, the second one was appalling, seems it is based on your luck, the toilets are open and lead the the river directly, which I did not like personally
17. You get choices of a bus or a Tata magic from here, but is chargeable. We paid 500 for 4 ppl. Itinerary says this is included in what we pay for package, almost everyone felt cheated here (some were promised AC bus which was not available even for a pay and go)
18. We preferred Bus and not Tata Magic this time, an old college bus with broken back glass windows rattling through almost 25-30 km until it hit main road, the bus journey was too tiring with roads to narrow a few times seemed an adventure by itself. Again it is not 30 Km as mentioned in Itenery, it is about 55 KM
19. Rs 125 per person for a totally bad maintained bus with no other available choice which was infact promised as included in package, nice feel to the end of journey
20. Bus dropped us in bus stand from where we took an auto to railway station Rs 50 and had dinner in Sri Ram Hotel, (this one was good)
Overall the trip could have been more organized, food was ok, irritating part was blaring music and unnecessary event management on boat shouting screaming and dancing all through the trip, it was ok one time, we wont plan for a second time.

My family comprising of 4 adults (1 senior citizen) and 2 kids(aged 4 & 1 years) want to visit Bhadrachalam via Pappikondalu by boat, so I planned to book tickets online from USA. I come across this website which is maintained well visually and some other ones too. I spoke to them multiple times and each time they spoke about rules and the procedures. So booked tickets online expecting a quality service from them. But the service provided was not up to the mark. They spoke about time and punctuality. They mentioned if we are not available at their office by 7:30 AM the assigned vehicle will leave and we have to pay for our travel to catch the boat. But actual scenario is different. The vehicle was started one hour late (around 8:30AM). The vehicle (Bus) provided was average and it got punctured on way to catch the boat. After multiple calls finally the team assured to provide another vehicle. Finally we arrived at the boat location, unfortunately the boat left the spot due to late arrival. The team was not responding to the calls properly and there is no one in the location to assist what has to be done. The bus driver is simply ignorant and has shown no interest in problems travelers are facing. After around 40mins finally the team responded and asked to take the same bus which dropped us to catch the boat in another location. But the drive to that location was awesome in the jungle.
Positive Notes: The boat is maintained well and the food was tasty. The activities in the boat, the scenic around the travel is wonderful.
PS: I only choose this Sai Krishna Godavari Boat Travels expecting good service instead of other travel agencies "Aptourismrajahmundry.com". I spoke to other agency guys and at least they are genuine in what they are saying. They mentioned the problems that might face and how they will provide service to that.

I took an customized package with saikrishna boat travels. The trip started from vijayawada (Kanakadurga temple) , pancharamam, mangalagiri, bhadrachalam via boat trip.
I appreciate :
1) the accommodation provided and vehicle as well.
2) all the intended places were covered.
3) Food was not included in the package. But we have taken the required stops for food.
4) Boat trip was also very good.
5) Stayed in bamboo huts accommodation which was extremely good.
Not appreciated:
1) we were not informed that we have to carry the luggage from boat stop to the location. They have to educate the travelers regarding the same as the distance is quite far and i traveled with mostly elder people.
2) Accommodation provided in Bhadrachalam was not good and the point of contact was not approachable.
Summary :
It was a nice trip overall and worth going with them

I started from Bangalore with my wife and 2 year old kid on 29-12-2016 to rajahmundry via train and reached early morning (Its 17 hour journey). I had called sai krishna travel person a day before and had booked everything online including fresh up before we board boat. Fresh up arrangement was intimated by tour operator via sms and everything went glitch free. By 7.30AM we were ready at the travel office which is walk-able distance from freshup hotel. A bus was arranged to go to a place which is 40KM away from rajahmundry and then boarding the boat from there. The boat travel started at 10AM and it was a wonderful experience. There was a breakfast arrangement in boat which is not great but good enough. The boat crew were good enough to give an extra plate of Idli to my 2 year old kid though I haven't bought any ticket to her. Over all journey is 3.5 hours into the water, visiting a couple of nearby temples on the way and coming back for 3.5 hours again. The boat crew were very funny and entertaining though they can reduce the volume of their speakers considering some of the calm nature lovers in the boat. If you can understand telugu, then you would love to know a lot of information about various villages along the way which will be explained by boat crew. The nature is fantastic on both sides of the Godavari river and Photographers can carry their superior cameras for extraordinary nature. calm breeze in the evening while coming back from the papi hills along with speeding boat and sun at the west would take you to a different world altogether. Full marks to Sai krishna Godavari Boat travels for the nice arrangement. Finally we returned to godavari bund at 6.30PM and bus journey back to rajahmundry by 7.30PM. 650rs per head all inclusive is a competitive price compared to kerala boats and other places for the experience it offers. Finally not to forget, the nice veg food in boat in the afternoon while on boat ride will make you visit this place again.

Hello friends.....
I am planning for a trip to AP,Covering pappigondalu, Araku and Vizag .Will be reaching rajahmundry on 26 th Dec by Howrah mail from chennai and will be taking flight back to chennai on 30th afternoon. My idea is to spend at least a night stay in Araku and Vizag. But since i am reaching rajahmundry only by 10 am on 26th morning ,i need to stay back there for 2 nights.,since the boat ride for the next day could only be suitable for us! My doubts are instead of taking a day more in hotel, would it be good to do 2 day boat package ? i.e., i need to stay in huts overnight en route this extended boat trip? The next day i am being advised to take a morning ride to Araku before staying there for overnight...Guess staying in hills and vising Borra caves would be good enough there??would like to know, the mode of conveyance here, which should be moderate as well good. And as such my plan is to stay in Vizag for the next day nearer to a good beach which should be also closer to kailasagiri hills and airport!!
If my plan is not an optimum one, then let me know how to do it and also suggest me good places to stay in the places i have hinted above..with a moderate budget.
Thanks in advance
