If you don't speak Italian, don't take tours. The paper they give you takes 10 mn to read and you have to suffer through a visit that last forever.
The basilic is ok but in serious need of a clean up.
The view on Torino...More
You can leave the car and go up by cable car that runs every hour on the hour from the bottom. 30’ later it descends. Parking lot up there is not major so be advised.
Excellent views also from the top of the basilica.
Took the rack train from Sassi at 10am and arrived at the top at about 20 minutes later. Short walk from the station with gorgeous views over Turin. Went up to the cupola (131 steps - enclosed spiral staircase) and more or less had it...More

A fun trip. Bus 61 or 68 or tram 15 (1.50 euro) to Saasi-Superga. Finucular (9 euro round trip) to the top, short walk to Basilica. Stunning views of Torino. From here there are walking paths that seem to go many km. The funicular returns...More

A beautiful cathedral, for architecture and location.
You can climb the dome all the way to the top for an amazing view over the city. Best recommended to go at sunset, you won't be disappointed!
If you have time also don't forget to walk behind...More
The Basilica itself is really nice and offers gorgeous views of the city. However, getting there is a hassle. Whether it's with the too expensive tram or with the non-punctual and badly explained bus system, getting up the hill is a hard task.

Yes there is a parking area close the Superga church and it's free of charge . My recommendation is to leave the car at Sassi, where you can find a big free parking area and where you can get the train to reach Superga and... More
Yes there is a parking area close the Superga church and it's free of charge . My recommendation is to leave the car at Sassi, where you can find a big free parking area and where you can get the train to reach Superga and you can enjoy the ride in an ( I think ) almost 200 years old carriage .

I am presently writing from the US: every time I have been there, I have either driven or taken the train. So my experience with buses is not direct. There is however a bus (no. 79) that goes from the Sassi train station to Superga and then continues on to Baldissero. What I don't know is whether this is a regular line (I suspect so because it goes to Baldissero as well) or a substitute line for when the train is not working. I hope you may read Italian, because I would suggest that you go to a site, named Muoversi a Torino
