The mosque is good the visit, not as impressive as the mausoleum but still worth it. Visit also the gardens around the mosque.

The Id Kah Mosque is a famous landmark in Kashgar. It is located next one of the main entrances to the "Old Town/Ancient City" area. In front the Mosque is a very large public square area where people leisurely walk through and enjoy the surroundings.

The Mosque is nicely maintained and is clean. Upon entering the Mosque (fee required on entrance for tourists), the grounds area is lovely - many tall trees providing nice shade from the sun. Inside the Mosque structure, the design is quite simple and the area is clean. While this Mosque is not as elaborate so others around the world, it is still a nice place to visit. This Mosque is still actively being used for services in the evening hours and weekends.
Nice place to visit and enjoy the scenery.

The Id Kah Mosque is located quite near to the Old Town of Kasgar. The whole complex occupies 16,800 square meters. It is a rather simple worship place.

Would be better if it was an actualy mosque with people praying in it. China is just going crazy trying to conrol everything. Nothing much to see inside. I only entered an empty praying hall. 45¥ are definitely not worth spending for this. Just take a picture outside, and that'll do.

This is the largest mosque in Xinjiang and is located in the old city of Kashgar. Very peaceful grounds

We found this place a little disappointing especially bearing in mind the high cost of the ticket. Looked just like a plain old ordinary mosque with not a lot going for it. Plenty of trees and that is about it. Unless you are really looking for something to to do in Kashgar if you miss his you won’t miss a lot. Bit of a rip off

Since this is the largest mosque in China, I guess we were expecting something more spectacular. The gatehouse, visible from the street is architecturally more interesting than the great hall itself. You must pay an entrance fee and show your passport to get in. Women are not required to cover their heads to enter.

it was a part of the tour, but no special striking memory, it is mainly important in order to folllow local customs traditions and their respect for their shrine

You pay 45 RMB to walk around a courtyard. There was no access to any part of the larger mosque (maybe it was prayer time) and no photos are to be taken. There's really nowhere in entire province of Xinjiang that you aren't are watched by numerous cameras. This is no exception.
I found it more entertaining to sit outside and watch tour groups enter and leave.

...simply because it’s a cultural icon of Kashgar, and its vital Muslim community. When we visited, worshipers were inside, so we could not enter the Mosque. Even so, I was greatful to see it, since it holds a key role in Kashgar’s historic roots.
