An absolute paradise for the senses. A long but colourful spectacle passing through wonder trees, plants and flowers. Further on a lovely lake with plenty of wildlife.

The Cairns botanical gardens are well worth a visit. They cover different types of plants over a large area and there is a great cafe and a very nice gift shop.

Simple the best display of tropical plants . The labelling of many was so interesting to us learning the origins of the plants not necessarily from Australia . Lunch in the middle of the lush green palms was a bonus

If you go to North Queensland you have to go to the cairns botanical garden. What a wonderful relaxing stroll through the lush tropical gardens. Pack a picnic lunch or find a spot on the lawn and read a book.

Will definitely be returning here on our next trip to North Queensland.

This is a lovely environment and perfect place to go for a quiet stroll. If you are into botany then you would enjoy it more. It’s a gentle walk suitable for those who don’t want a vigorous walk. Beautifully maintained and peaceful.

Large area of beautiful green and colourful plants. Interesting different playground for kids. I particularly liked black stemmed bamboo in the Chinese friendship garden.

Lots of old large trees and types. Even the giant and king ferns can be found here. Well worth the visit. Spare 3-4 hours for the full experience. I was surprise that it’s larger and have a lot more varieties of plants than Brisbane.

we attended the free information session tour. It was a great small group, led by a wonderful guide. It was interactive, informative and a wonderful way to spend the morning. A thanks to the other attendees, who added their wonderful knowledge and spirit to the tour.
