Very knowledgeable guide with pretty good English. We appreciated the video as part of the tour as it was super helpful for context and the images were rather informative. We also enjoyed seeing how the temperatures and humidity are monitored on the computer. We found the property more human vs others we’ve seen in the area and loved that the owner and his dog swung by our tasting to say hello. Also, selling the demi bottles is a plus, accessibility to try different vintages!

We were three adults and visited this winery on a public holiday. It was very quiet in the Medoc region with few tourists around or wineries open for tours. Luckily we had booked a tour beforehand. The tour cost was €12 per person, it lasted a little over an hour and at the end we got to taste two wines. All up, it was an excellent experience. Our guide was fluent in English and was very engaging, talking about the history of the district, the vineyard and winery itself, the varieties of grapes they grow etc etc. He was right across the subject matter and threw in lots of fascinating facts into his patter. For instance, we had no idea that the grape roots in this area of gravelly soils went down 10 metres to reach the nutrient-rich clays in the subsoil. Another fact to file away!

Chateau Lafon-Rochet winery tour was one of the best I experienced and I have been to quite a few wineries across the Europe.
Firstly the Chateau is very beautiful with a very impressive modern cellar facilities where technology meets tradition. Our guide was very friendly engaging and knowledgeable and spoke very good English which made the tour very enjoyable. We spend almost two hours there and time flew very quickly.
The highlight of the tour was tasting from the barrel ( it’s first time I tried that). I also liked that they have a nice tasting room where we were allowed to sit down and enjoy the wine, rather than being squeezed around small counter.
All in all very impressed with their facilities, and wine itself, which was very nice and we ended up buying a case.
I highly recommend visiting this Chateau. I booked the tour via 'Rue des Vignerons' website/app. There were couple of options and I choose - Tour and tasting "Experience" (in English). It was very nice.

The vivid mango colour of the building is so outstanding, the gentleman who tour us around the winery is professional, the place is clean and the floor is dry. While we are tasting the wines, the owner passed by, he is very friendly. We visited 3 wine yards and this is our most favorite.

Called before visit for tasting. They were open, just come and visit. When we arrived they told us there was only one person available at the moment, we had to wait 30 minutes. We waited outside. After 45 minutes we asked again via doorbel and they appologized it would take another 10 minutes.
Meanwhile for the 3th time other people from the chateau passed or said goodbye to visitors. No intention to welcome us, quite hautain behavior.
10 minutes got 25 and then the door opened. The single person on service was busy. After another 10 minutes of polite waiting i asked her about the tasting. She told she might have 5-10 minutes in 10/15 minutes before the next tour.
I told her we waited far over an hour and told her this was very disappointing. Her reaction was she couldn’t help it, without giving us the impression she cared at all....
When we left we asked for the manager to express our feeling about this, she also didn’t seem to care. As arrogant as it can get...
Don’t waste your time here, there are many very friendly alternatives in the area!

Dear Mr. Franck 0,
Lafon-Rochet is a family estate, each of the person working there is known to be friendly in the area, you just need to ask. No one remembers a phone call from you, and the visits are on appointment only. There is a reason for that, it is not our main activity, we are winemakers before all, and it is our great pleasure to show to anyone who wishes, our lives and dedication for the wine we are making.
We would be pleased to welcome you again, but please make an appointment before.

We visited with two adults and two children using a pre-booked slot from Pauillac's maison du vin and tourist office. Without pre-booking it would be difficult to tour the facilities. The tour took about an hour and finished with wine tasting, of two of their main brands of wine. The tour is a paid one (some 10 euros per adult). You can buy bottles from their stock but there is no pressure. Our boys thought it was so-so, but that is not unusual for teenagers.

Just love the beautiful, Rich, vibrant color of the Château the marks the distinct branding of the label. The property is Beautiful. The insides have been modernized. The wines are delicious. And the family is passionate about making great wines. This is a Grand Cru château producing wines that you will really love.
