Overview
More
This great little award-winning and family-friendly Museum contains two fun and fact-packed biographical galleries, the fantabulous interactive Story Centre and a sunny courtyard. Situated in Great Missenden where Roald Dahl lived for over 36 years, it was created as a home for the author’s archive (which visitors can see on our regular tours) and as a place to inspire creativity and a love of reading in children, about which Roald Dahl was passionate.

Enjoyable and plenty of history about roald Dahl - what a fabulous life he had. Some of the titles were missing from the shop which was unusual - a trick missed we had to go to Waterstones in Banbury to buy what we needed

We visited here on the Friday of half term, and weren’t really sure what to expect, with 7 children aged from 8 to 10, 5 boys, w girls (not all mine!). The museum was busy but comfortable, not rammed. All of the children really enjoyed...More

Half-term mayhem didn't stop me learning about the great man - never mind the offspring! I sincerely recommend visiting the museum when there are likely to be as few young children there as possible, especially if you are a fan of Dahl. Of course, there...More

We visited here today with two teenagers and two under 10’s. Parking was ok. The car Park was described as ‘a couple of minutes walk away. But that’s up quite a steep hill which is a bit problematic for someone who can’t walk Very well....More

We arrived on a wet Saturday morning and started our visit in "Cafe Twit", the food display looked amazing. We opted for Danish pastry and tea. All very nice and reasonably priced. The museum itself is very reasonable, it cost us £11 for 1 adult...More

For me it was all a bit confusing but for our six year old granddaughter it was amazing. She loved it especially the activities and the chance to sit in Roald Dahl’s chair! So the visit was a big hit! Personally I felt there could...More

Warm welcome, all young staff members. Wasn't expensive, adult £6 and child £4.50. A very enjoyable visit and bringing back childhood memories of the beautiful stories. Many different activities with also more information about Roald Dahl's life. Enjoyable for all ages.

I think it will depend on the 3 year old but I suspect as others have advised 3 is a little too young. They really need to be into books and competent readers to get the most out of it. There is some interactive activity... More
