This great little award-winning and family-friendly Museum contains two fun and fact-packed biographical galleries, the fantabulous interactive Story Centre and a sunny courtyard. Situated in Great Missenden where Roald Dahl lived for over 36 years, it was created as a home for the author’s archive (which visitors can see on our regular tours) and as a place to inspire creativity and a love of reading in children, about which Roald Dahl was passionate.

We visited with children age 10 and 6 and thought we would find the original house or the shed where Roal Dahl used to work. There are some bits of the shed but it could be from anywhere really. The museum is small basically an...More

This small village high street and the immediate environs cannot support the parking needs of vast numbers of visitors to the Roald Dahl museum. Permission should never have been given for this site to be used in this manner. The only good news is the...More

Visited this place yesterday and Great Missenden is a lovely town. The museum is quite small and was previously an old coaching in. The staff are all helpful and attentive and because the museum is quite small it actually doesn't take too long to go...More

We (our family and a friend's family) visited this unique little museum and were kept occupied with some story telling sessions and a "science and building" session that helped break up wandering around numerous Roald Dahl themed exhibits, information and biographical stuff. The kids loved...More

My 8 year old loves Roald Dahl, but we live 2 hours away. Just wondering if the museum is worth the drive and if we can spend a whole day there or if it is a few hours maximum.
