Fun zoo, admission was 17 or 18 euro per adult a far price for the exp. Friendly informative staff lots of cool animals and plants and exhibits to see. Built on an old sugar plantation or processing site lots of old sugar milling equipment around with info about the machines and process of growing and processing sugar on the island. Took us about 2 hours to see all they had too offer.

4.5 stars. This zoo is set among tropical plants, a waterfall, and ruins of old buildings, so it is very scenic. The animals include jaguars, monkeys, raccoons, turtles, iguanas, flamingos, lorikeets, parrots, butterflies, and many others. The animals’ enclosures looked to be a decent size and in good condition. A gift shop sold nice souvenirs. There, I bought local snack foods, hand soap, and a lovely carved wooden bird.

The zoo has a limited number of selected animals, the most impressive of which are leopards, cougars and monkeys. The fantastic location of the zoo among the ruins of a once lively city, which was completely destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1902, is surprising. A unique location in the world.

This is more than a Zoo, friendly staff, an experience younger to do on your own lime a little adventure by just following the signs. I was so exited and happy to see an anteater and do many other animals I didn't know of. My daughter was inlove with the flamengoes. Although each are not in their born region the staff and team place each cresture in a home like environment for comfort and a stressless life experience. Its more than what I expected. We got to see enchant pirate wepons and stuff;the way people leaved thousands of years ago. Thank you for the learning experirnce.
