Well, we arrived at the gates, which were locked…..parked the car on the side of the road as previous visitors had recommended…..and that’s it.

No buzzer - nobody in attendance - no sign of life

So, if you love a wasted journey to find a pair of gun metal grey steel gates firmly shut and nobody home then this is the excursion for you

Unbelievable experience.
Me and my wife had a tour by the owner. Booked via third party.
Something we will never forgot.
€50 to the booking site and €25 each to the owner Franco.

Closed. Don’t bother. I drove from Taormina for about 25 minutes and found the house with gates locked, seemingly deserted. Waste of time as it’s in the middle of nowhere. Disappointing.

We were very rushed through this tour which barely lasted 30 minutes. The owner clearly had larger busloads of people to take care of after us. You will recognize the villa as soon as you see it. We were expecting a guide, but there was none. The owner is living off the fame of this house, he grabbed the €50 out of my hand and was gone like a shot. Not worth it for us.

Our favorite excursion in Sicily was the Godfather Tour by Alessio at Sicily Grand Tour. He is well connected and an expert on the Godfather movies. He took us to the "Castle" where some important scenes were shot. He and the "Baron" whose family has owned the property since 1544, showed us the whole place. They passionately told us how in 1971, Paramount knocked on his door and arranged to create many important scenes there. Everything was so personalized, and the price was so fair that we gave Alessio a 25% tip.We also went to Bar Vitelli and 3 churches where important scenes were shot.

Enjoyed meeting the Baron and visiting his home, chapel and basement. He was a gracious host, full of enthusiasm. Due to the weather our tour of the grounds was limited, we were able to snap a few outdoor photos before the rain started again. It is well with taking time to visit this site.

This was excellent. You need to have your hotel conciege make a reservation. The current owner takes you around the villa. You immediately recognize the place from all three Godfather movies. It is the home of Don Toamassio.

We visited the Castello in May 2018, almost at the end of our tour to Sicily.
When we flew from Toronto, we had in mind the possibility of visiting some of the places were the Godfather was filmed.
We never imagined having the chance to tour the very same location where Tony and his first wife lived and were she died in the explosion.
Our driver offered making an appointment for us, we both paid a fee and were greeted by the owner, Baron Platania.
He kindly showed us all the parts were the movie was shot and, additionally, showed us the cellar and the chapel.
He also invited us into his home and showed walked us through all the memorabilia.
If you’re a fan of The Godfather, this is the place to go!

I have been doing a tour of the film locations for the Godfather trilogy. This was the last place on my agenda and have to say probably the most important of all the locations as for those that know the films it is where Michael hides and lives with his wife Apollonia and is the place where the car she drives towards Michael explodes and also the farewell scene for Michael where peacefully dies all alone in a single chair. That on its own is a powerful message of the life he led......

In any case, we could not enter as you have to pre book and I did not realise this prior to making my trip.

I was able to take some pictures through the gates of the house but only the side. Never mind.

I would go again and next time rate it 5 I'm sure. This feedback is of my own experience.

The location in google is not correct. You have to drive approximately 1 additional km from the advertised point. The place is very nice and atmosphere is great , though I doubt that the tour worth 25 euro per person.
