Dating back to the Doric period 4th and 3rd century BC, this is a fascinating place to visit in Tharros. I spent four hours walking around the site, and the views from the tower are 360 degree stunning vistas! Plenty of little restaurants to eat and drink.

My wife and I were so pleased to find this place on our first day of our Sardinian holiday. In our opinion it had everything we were wanting from our holiday. It has lovely views and has a great walk around around the headland with wonderful vistas. Also of note was the archeological significance. Finally the beach was excellent. Lovely... More

Walking around the headland on the top of the SInis peninsula to the lighthouse and back to the Tharros excavation area gave us some amazing views (and about 100 mosquito bites). The two smaller beaches right after the old watchtower were wonderful for an afternoon in the sand and spalshing in the ocean.

This is a pretty scenic peninsula and even if you don't go into the ancient city of Tharros, you can see the ruins on the stroll by the fence (including the seaside columns, ruins of the temple, etc.).

What a wonderful destination for history lovers. Here you will find the ancient city of Tharros. Lots of Roman ruins together with a Nuraghic settlement and a Spanish Tower. Beautiful setting overlooking the sea on two sides with a magnificent beach.

Jaw-dropping view greets you if you do the hike from bottom to top of the Torre and more! Restaurants and cafes are also found in the area, so you can grab an ice cold beer or a shot of espresso!

This area is a bit of the beaten track and offers quite an eclectic mix of archaeology at Tharros, walking trails, beaches and some small cafes. Not an area I would choose to devote a lot of time to, but a good day trip from other more touristy areas. The church was the highlight for me.

Dramatic setting, dramatic waves, beautiful vistas. Unforgettable beach. There is a quiet side to the left of the ruins, a wild side to the right.
