- Love to TravelPotters Bar, United Kingdom779 contributionsNot this timeWe went on the evening safari and saw very little, some deer, peacocks, with the elephants and bison hiding in the bush with no clear view. Had it not been for the drove back to the hotel the safari would have rated lower and I understand it is all the luck of the draw. On the return to the hotel having dropped the other passengers off we finally got to see some elephants very close to the road as well as a couple of bears, now difficult to photograph because of the fading light. A friend on the trip will no doubt be singing the reserves praise as she booked a 6:30 safari the following morning and got to see the elusive tiger with cub. Just the luck of the drawVisited December 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 6 December 2022
- david hPerth, Australia68 contributionsLeopard sightingsSaw 4 leopards here which was great, but on tigers. Just in the wrong place at the wrong. Driver's and naturalists were great in getting us around plus spotting wildlife. Food and staff were excellent and our cottage was very comfortable.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 April 2023
- Venture06776823132Bengaluru, India1 contributionExperience the wildOur Group of 65 visited this place in July 2023. We had booked the cottages and dormitory for our stay. Their canteen is located in the same premises and they serve simple food. The cottages are comfortable and if you are lucky, you can have a visit by a leopard! Lots of deer roam nearby. If you stay in the premises, a discount of Rs 300 is given for the safari ride. The safari ride is of around 60-70 minutes and normally deer, peacock, elephants can be seen. The tigers are seen by the lucky few.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 August 2023

I would give Bandipur a score of 0 if that was an option.
The safaris are marketed as 2 hours. In fact you are only in the national park for about 1 hour and 25 minutes because of the distance between where you pay and start the safari and where the jeeps or buses actually enter the park. It is a very expensive 1 hour and 25 minutes. Our spotter also spent the majority of his time looking at either his phone or his camera rather than attempting to find any animals or birds.
We may have been unlucky of course but we saw virtually nothing. Having left the centre late the driver and tracker were very careful to return us on time.
It was a total waste of time and money.

We visited the safari counter on 26/10/23 at 1.45 p.m., and it was very hot, there was no drinking water, the toilets are dirty. Staffs are not cordial. Totally the minimum facility not available. Which needs to be improved

I go to Bandipur National Park and stay in JLR 6-8 times a year as I am a wildlife photographer. If you want to see wildlife in their natural habitat this is the best place to stay in JKR ensures that you do 3 hrs morning and 3 hrs afternoon safaris with the best naturalists/drivers. Enjoy the wildlife, keep fewer exceptions and it will overwhelm your expectations for sure if you are a nature and wildlife lover. Please follow the rules, wear appropriate clothes and maintain silence when on a safari. For more photos on Bandipur, you can go to shoumo29 on Instagram.

an amazing forest with majestic animals like tigers and elephants. Gaur (Indian bison ) was also a treat to watch as his enormous body grazing freely in a tiger country impressed us.

With lot of exceptional we took the last tour starting at 3.30 pm. First we sighted elephants. We lost about 30 minutes as another vehicle got struck in slush. In the meantime, we missed a leopard by a whisker. But we saw spotted deer, samba, mongoose and languar.

Not worth the time and effort, buses are rattly, zypsy has to be booked in advance(48 hours), saw very few animals like deer, elephant, bison. One gets to see more deer on road side than to travel inside the bumpy ride of jungle. The guides are useless they don’t speak a word, that makes u wonder why they have suddenly stopped or why r they reversing or why they are suddenly driving Iike maniacs. In the end disappointed

What a magical place!!! This forest is huge and dense but absolutely fantastic. The best part of the safari here is that it is government controlled hence limited number of vehicles are allowed, which is crucial to maintain the jungle.
Being less commercial adds an extra amazing factor to this safari.
Though we did not see the Tiger, we spotted a leopard, lots of spotted deer, barking deer, sambal deer, elephants, peacocks, giant wood spiders and of course loads of monkeys!

You are best to book prior to arrival for this number of people as for this number of people it will require 2 x Jeeps.
Hope this assists.
