You will definitely pass by Pungnammun when you are walking from the Hanok Village/Jeondong Catholic Church to Nambu Market. It offers a different view in the day and night. In the day it looks traditional, and at night it's lit up and looks really beautiful!

It's beautiful at night light. I just looked at it walking by at night. It would be better to enter and climb it.

I didn't plan to visit Pungnammum at all. On the way back from dinner, I just walked aimlessly around before going back to the village, and saw this ancient monument not far away. It was pretty when lit up. I went to have a look at it in the morning. Well, better to see it at night.

This is a very nice gate , not far from all the surrounding must see, so that is worth the 5 to 10 min walk from the hannock village , just to take a shot at that nice gate lol

PungnamMun is within walking distance from Jeonju Hanuk Village. Night scene is beautiful! You can do some shopping around PungnamMun. A lot of local shops & restaurant. If you game for authentic local food, which Jeonju is famous for Bean Sprout Soup. Their local market is very near as well, Located on the right of front view of PungnamMun.

This gate is just like the gates you will see in Seoul but this one has a little more character to it. The roundabout is a short walk but goes along some very typical countryside shops. Take the extra 5-10 minutes to walk the sidewalk around the gate. It's fun!

We stopped by PungnamMun on a recent visit to Jeonju. This is the historic south gate of Jeonju and is located in an interesting part of this city with many nearby shops to check out. This gate rates a great photo opportunity. Check it out.

C1 ( 2015.05.21 ) This castle gate and some Jeonju's attraction located near each other. PungnamMun is South gate of Jeonju. This gate was beautiful and represented Joesun's architecture. But this gate was not bigger than I guess, and couldn't enter inside. I could walking only surroundings.

Another big gate in the middle of a roundabout, sadly like most gates in South Korea, you cant walk up the stairs, nor through the gate doors. Still beautiful to warrant a visit and see the beautiful detail in it.
