Came for a casual stroll on Boxing day and was disgusted to find a dead whale carcass rotting on the beach. Children were climbing all over it and one parent was hacking lumps off it with machete ! Why, oh why is this allowed to...More

This is a small beach, one of few in the immediate locality, but is away from the deep wharf and commercial fishing. The major beaches are further down the estuary at Southend and Thorpe Bay. Having said that, it is usually very pleasant, but can...More

Bell Wharf beach in lovely Leigh-on-sea proudly carries the no doubt self-awarded prize of best beach 2018. It is a tiny spot of beach in an admittedly scenic location at the wharf and the sailing club of Leigh-on-sea. Don’t walk too fast or you will...More

This is a nice old town. At the end theres a small beach. Do take sandles as it’s full of little stones. Being small it means toddlers can’t run to far. Check the tide times if you want the water to be there.

I would say this is just a small beach in old Leigh noting spectacular as there are so many better places amongst the coast line .

the beach is a mile or so away from stations and is at the bottom of a hill/slope. Unless you have lots of stamina a taxi would be advisable
