Not as peaceful as i was expecting, with all the nearby golfers, but worth a look,...especially for hunting down all the tree sculptures around the circuit. Grab a drink & bite to eat from the cafe too.

Went for a weekend walk - there is an outdoor playfround and there were also pony rides advertised but we didn't do this. The walk was ok but its next to a golf course so you do hear the golfers!

Think you turned into the wrong car park. The car park entrance is on a bend and this single track road leads into a larger parking area and then a path takes you to the visitor centre with cafe, toilets and shop.

It is open all year round - the woods and reserve that is. The visitors centre is run by Essex Wildlife so usual opening hours but check their website for specicific times.
